I went there for dinner while in training at about 7:00 PM on a Tuesday night and was 1 of 3 people in the bar. Walking up I wasn't sure if the place was even still there as the front looked very decrepit. Very dark inside and beat up. I was served quickly and when asked about the history about... More

This is a great bar. Good music, friendly staff. After midnight is the best time, a bit slow, time to linger over a cold beer and a hot hamburger.

So we did. Memphis is a very old town and they embrace it. This place reeks of history. MANY movies have been filmed here and you will recognize parts of the place. We saw it late at night FULL of people and then we had lunch there the next day and got the scoop from Clarence the bartender. Very cool... More

A must experience while in Memphis! This is an amazing 2 story historical based local joint (former brothel). It comes with all the history of its time. I got this feeling like I time travelled upon entering. They provide a great assortment of some of best local and international beers - I had a Red Stripe beer- the Jamaican lager... More

A smokey mess, a terrible burger, and not a decent wine. Nice story neat building, but not where I would choose to eat.

This place is one of a kind. Let me say that when I call (part of) it a 'dive bar', I do so with the utmost respect as that is my kind of bar! The front part is 'divey'. Juke box, beer, burgers, small dance floor and some old couches provide a fun space for late night. GET A SOUL... More

If you're comfortable hanging out in American Legions and old man bars then you will love this place! A grungy patina that only years and years of cigarette smoke and spilled beer can provide. Get yourself a Soul Burger and a cold bottle of suds and talk to the locals! If you happen to be there on Wedensday night, there... More

I like weird places, dive bar places, and "where the locals go" places. But the vibe in this place was off. We walked in and heads turned, as though we weren't supposed to be there. We went upstairs, which was abandoned, to check out the old brothel rooms, but that was the highlight of the experience. As it turns out... More

Just go late night, get a burger, sober up, listen to some tunes, play a game of pool and chill. One of the best dives in the world.

Soul burger, 2 bags of chips and 2 beers $13. Then a self guided tour of the upstairs supposed house of ill repute that was supposedly visited by Ray Charles regularly. Great great great.
