We were on our way home from Memphis, TN when we needed to find a place close to the airport for a birthday dinner. Found Tsunami in the area, had great reviews so we made a reservation. The food was phenomenal and I highly recommend...trying this spot out. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. If I'm ever in Memphis, TN again, I will certainly go there!More
Ben Smith keeps reaffirming to us how good the fish and seafood is at this restaurant, one of our long time favorites. Although around for more than 20 years, Ben and his chefs keep coming up with with great dishes, especially on the ever changing...small plates menu. Quality and consistency are paramount at this establishment, both with the food and the staff. Had a great piece of Mediterranean branzino recently, with distinctly Mediterranean accompaniments. This is one of the few restaurants where I chow down on the house bread. Especially with the sizzling shrimp (served with grilled bread), and the end of the garlic butter int the small cast iron pan sopped up with fresh bread.More
We have eaten at Tsunami many times in the past and always had great food and terrific service. Our most recent visit, however, was somewhat disappointing. We decided to make a meal of various small plates and assumed that because they were priced within $5...of a dinner serving, they would be generous size. Wrong. $21.00 for a very small plate was out of line in my opinion. And the food was only semi warm to top it off. I must say the service was very good though.More
Memphis has A LOT of wonderful restaurants, and this is one of them. The tenderloin with chili butter is terrific, the Caesar salad fresh and good, but the Wasabi Deviled Eggs are FANTASTIC! A bit overpriced for small portions, but very very good food. We'll...be back the next time we are in Memphis, which will be soon!More
The atmosphere was loud. We had reservations so we were seated promptly. The plates were small. The Salmon was tender but only tasted okay. The orzo was mixed with crunchy vegetables. The roasted grouper was tender and the potato hash was sweet but good. They...gave us two pieces of bread. It was not hot or crusty. The bacon wrapped dates were excellent: sweet but also salty. The pot stickers and meatballs were okay. The scallops were tender and tasty. The dessert breme bruele was okay but nothing special. Enjoyed the banana wraped like an eggroll. It was warm with vanella ice cream on the side.More
