Had really high hopes for Central BBQ on Butler street in downtown Memphis, but actual visit was very much above par [I don’t say ‘subpar’ because that would mean it’s good if one sticks with the golf metaphor]. We arrived fairly late on a Sunday...More

The atmosphere was there, service was above average but not great, the only thing missing the mark was the food. Wife and I shared the full slab of ribs with four sides. We ordered our ribs dry with some sauce on the side. I only...More

Dined here with my husband, service was poor, you order your food and sit down which is fine, the person taking orders barely said 2 words and the person who gave us the drinks put them down and walked off leaving us confused if they...More

This was a fun place and what you would expect from a southern bar be sue. Food was fine and we had a good time. What is phenomenal is the National Civil Rights Museum near this restaurant.

Now remember I’m basing this visit on St. Louis BBQ. The atmosphere was fun! Walk-in, order, sit down, they bring the food and clean-up. Table decision was the Pork Nachos are the favorite! It wasn’t Amazing, but it was very good. See pictures for more....More

We stood in a line that ran down the street because we had heard so many rave reviews of the bbq here. It was worth it. Between the 4 of us, I got to sample pulled pork, ribs and the sausage. They were all excellent.

Just had the ribs at Central BBQ and I can't recall having had any better, even in KCMO. As Anthony Bourdain would say: "God lives in there." Beans & fries were very good, but didn't get to try any other sides. Be sure to check...More

We walked from our hotel but it seems there was plenty of parking near by. The museum is just across the street and would be closed at that time on a Sunday so that could work.
