Service was absolutely dreadful, got the food order wrong twice , no napkins or utensils, never again.

I was in the mood for Japanese, so saw the sign, checked the reviews, & decided to give this a try. This used to be an old movie theater, and the restaurant is Caverness. The multitude of empty tables far out strips the clientele, which...is a dead giveaway. Spring rolls are good as was the chicken fried rice. After taking my order for water, which the waitress brought me, she never returned! No napkin, which I had to request from a busboy, no utensils, which I had to request from the server who bought the rice, and have yet to see the waitress again! This is worse than the worst service I have ever had in my entire life in a restaurant! I guess I will have to go to the desk and request a take-out box, as well as a check for my dinner, as apparently the waitress has much better things to do than take care of her patrons. Regrettably, this will have been my first and last experience at Osaka. If you are in the mood for Japanese in this part of town, I strongly recommend that you go across the street toA-Tan’s! DO NOT COME HERE!!!More

Check out the sushi SPECIALS list. Creatively delicious! I ended up trying three different sushis and each was better than the other. There is also a Japanese-style dining room as a dining option. Thus far, this is the best sushi place in Memphis!

The dinner menu is quite extensive so I took a chance on battered shrimp, vegetables and Udon noodle soup.To this hour, I am still outraged that this was the worst combination of nothingness that I've ever tasted. I asked the waitress, who was pleasant, what...was the white rubbery tasteless ingredient in the soup. She came back about ten minutes later and exclaimed it was fishcake. It may have been some kind of porous cake but there was no fish. This was my first and last visit.More

I really love the ambiance of this place. The selection and quality of rolls and specialty rolls are excellent. Presentations is always spectacular. I have found the service a bit iffy, but the experience is always worth it bc the sushi is so good. I...go here when missing the west coast.More

I went here for lunch and I was so impressed with how beautiful the restaurant was- upbeat. And even more impressed with the food. I had a Dyno-Dynamite roll that was so delicious. Their spicy mayo is the best I ever had! And I also...got the hibachi lunch (Salmon- so moist and tender) a large amount of fresh veggies (Zucchini, Squash, Onion, Mushrooms) and Fried Rice...so much food and it was so delicious!!!!!! This is a MUST GO TO!!!!!More

I went during lunch hour and they offer half off select sushi. My server was excellent and the meal came out fast. I also visited this location on week night and sat at the bar. The bartenders are great. I tried Grizz Nation and it...was only $6 and was goodMore

I took my daughter on an impromptu visit tonight. The clear soup was excellent. The Big Daddy roll and the Philadelphia roll were delicious. The Hurricane roll was too spicy and the shrimp fried rice had like 6 shrimp that were overcooked but the rice...was delicious with the garlic butter. I had a Blue Margarita and it was really good. Overall...it was pretty good. I would visit again.More

Osaka has a very striking interior, the front half looking more like a space age nightclub than a bistro, with a more traditional dining room further back. I was concerned at first by some unwashed cutlery and my choice of fusion dish and nigiri not...being available. But service was quick and friendly and my fall-back choices from the menu turned out to be delicious as well as generously-sized. (The Tokyo drift special roll in particular was visually striking and very flavorful.) I look forward to returning and sampling some of the fusion entrees these very capable chefs offer.More
