Good spot for drinking!

We stopped in here whilst on holiday in Memphis, they have a good selection of beers on draught and the rates are pretty good. If you want a decent pint and don't want to get ripped off by some of the tourist trap bars on Beale Street then head here.

So this had some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Also the most expensive fish and chips I've had also. Place was nice, seated without much hassle of wait, but it is pricey.

Better than on Beale Street

It's called LOcal, and it had a local feel to it. Choice of craft beers on tap, good menu choices. Food came up fairly quickly & was very good. Friendly, helpful staff. MUch better than some of the bars on Beale Street. Worth visiting.

Fun “Local” Bar

True to its name, Local is a fun downtown hangout for all the locals. Now under new ownership, the menu has been revamped keeping most old favorites and adding some more excellent dishes also. The interior is looking fantastic in a short time as well. Have Tim, the owner tell you about the Shepherd’s Pie (see pic) as he will do a much better job telling you about it. It feels like homemade with care, hearty and delicious. Lots of beer (local and classics) and liquor selections.

Allergic reaction due to inadequate menu info

My husband had an allergic reaction here that necessitated emergency treatment. They did not clearly mark their menus (admitted this on the phone) that a buffalo sandwich contained peanut butter. They have made no effort to reconcile the situation. Don't go here!

This place was awesome! Great service and the burger was amazing. Try the duck quesadillas and big ass pretzel. The server was well versed with menu and paired drinks with the food we ordered. Light fun and causal atmosphere that allowed kids.

Just Close Up Already

So I wrote a previous review regarding Local on the Square, but I figured I'd give Local on Main a shot. I promise you that management will confirm everything, lest they just lie, too. We were one of two or three parties in there, and it was just my partner and I. We ordered our food and drinks, and the waiter was attentive, all seemed good. The waiter was only serving us, by the way. For whatever reason, after much waiting, the waiter brought out a burger for my partner, but we didn't order that. He said he'd bring our actual order soon. Maybe 45 minutes later, he brought our food. Okay, so I ordered the sliders, and I got three thumb-sized sliders with fries for $20, but whatever, okay. My partner said her burger was okay. The manager eventually came over and he had some awkward thing to say about the mixup, but he didn't really ask or say anything (it was honestly incredibly awkward). I tried to let him know that we were still waiting on our drinks (yes, we were still waiting on those), but he cut me off and said that we at least got free food (due to mix-up). My partner eventually gets her mojito, and it was legit undrinkable. Two hours later we finally leave--after all the weirdness and mix-ups and mistakes and over-priced terribleness. I realized that since the 20% gratuity is now just added into the bill, there is no reason to care about quality or service whatsoever. It's no wonder both Local spots are losing significant business. I mean, the owner and management clearly don't care about customers, so whatever. It'd be great to see them replaced by a restaurant that actually cares. TRUST ME: AVOID THE LOCAL. Just trust me.

First time there. On Sunday, walked in with a friend sat at the bar, ordered a drink. Half hour later the staff drops plates on floor. Ketchup flying everywhere in my blonde hair. Disgusting. Not even apology. Face wet napkins. Started laughing. When Bill time came. I said aren’t you going to comp it or at least discounted. My hair clothing was nasty. Had to leave. Was told only 12 dollars. Very unattractive bartender made fun of us and said she didn’t see it happen and also what is the big deal? Absolutely disgusting place. Never mind coming back, It is unsanitary and disgusting

Poor food, slow service.

Service was very friendly but took forever for food and drinks to come out and it wasn't a particularly busy night. Food was not gastro anything. Mexican street corn was so bad, I couldn't bring myself to eat half, chicken schwarma salad was topped with packaged bland grilled chicken cut up vs shredded spiced chicken. All the dishes sound good, but execution is poor with little in the way of flavor.

Welcome respite from my walking tour

First, I want to say the ambience is wonderful. Anything that you would find in a local beer establishment , booths if you want it done, roll up to the bar if you wanted to. The staff was friendly, great smiles, introduced themselves. Maybe the good thing is that I got there around 3 in the afternoon but actually it was closer to 3:30. So I was a little leery but it was a perfect time for me. I've been walking all morning. The beer that he recommended was from Memphis called something fire but I couldn't tell you exactly what it was. It was great; hit the spot, dark , loved it, full bodied, I was impressed. I ordered the lobster bisque and the lobster loaded fries. Which by the way were fabulous. I have had lobster bisque as far away as Maine and as South as Georgia. But this I would place right up there with the Maine. The texture was very Saucy like rather than soupy. I really enjoyed it with the bread. The lobster loaded fries where very good. The only thing I would say I wasn't too fond of was the fries while homemade and they certainly tasted that way, they weren't very crisp in some places. But I understand it might have been the sauce. The sauce however was Splendid. I enjoyed it immensely. Overall I had a grand time and highly recommend this place. But I'm not sure if late hours would be as much fun. The bartender told me they get a lot of locals in after 11. Therefore I presume that the locals find it as tasty as I did

Amazing food late night or any time.

Whoa. This place looks like a bar but the food is top notch. We had the meatball pizza and duck quesadilla. The pizza was really really good, but the quesadilla blew us away. So much flavor and cooked to perfection. All the beer on tap are local brews so it was great getting to try those too.
