We just happen to pass a sign for Knockinaam Lodge, and wow are we glad we drove down the little road. A beautiful house in a stunning setting, we visited on a warm summer day (Yes, we do have them in Scotland!), went down to the beach for a small walk and dipping our feet in the fresh Irish Sea.... Stunning tasting menu for lunch, each course was delicious, tasty and not too much. Very quiet the day we went, wasn't a problem as stunning restaurant in a beautiful location. Highly recommend, only wished we had stayed in the hotel.

We were seeking serenity by the sea and found it at this very special hotel. Everything was superb from our welcome to the wonderful food. The quite solitude of the location was enhanced by its sea top feel with ever changing sea views. The service was discrete, personal and warm and the presence of good contemporary paintings enhanced the ambience... More

We were strongly advised to stay overnight at Knockinaam Lodge when travelling back from Northern Ireland to Scotland. It's a gem of a place if you are looking for peace and quiet, a delightful setting down a long private drive, delicious Michelin starred food and exemplary service. It's also utterly dog friendly, allowing our labradoodle into our room - the... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a party of six. Each meal was a delight - small portions, but exquisite and we were never left hungry!! Cooked breakfasts were excellent, although the quality of croissants, muffins and bread at breakfast did not match up to quite the same standard. Rooms were very comfortable, with beautiful sea views. I like the... More

Not sure if this was just a bad night having read all the reviews for this place. The soup was Cauliflower & Aged Cheddar with Curry Oil which was average at best fish course was better but the real disappointment was the Lamb with Hot-Pot Potatoes I was on the verge of sending mine back because it was cold but... 3 night stay here with a completely different menu each night. Six delicious courses and wonderful choice for breakfasts. Food was the best I have ever had.

The food is prepared from fresh local produce and is delicately tasty and a delight to the palate with small but adequate portions. The chef responds with aplomb to any food intolerance providing wonderful alternatives without any fuss whatsoever.
