This is our 2nd family gathering take away now and it was even better than the 1st time! The food is excellent and the portion sizes are pretty good as well. We'll be back again.

We hadn't been to The Stables for a while so therefore we booked a table for 4, our little family. Warm welcome at the door from the lovely owners and the most caring staff and right away you felt that Chrismassy feel. Tables were beautifully...set out with white and gold table runners a holy wreath candle holder and plenty of Christmas crackers for the kids to get their hands on. Our drinks order came and right away the starters followed....we just started to dig into the melted cheesy soft potato skins as we made sure we didn't eat too much before we arrived at the restaurant because I know the food here is absolutely delicious with past experience and I wanted to enjoy my dinner and sure we did. The main meal absolutely mouthwatering a plate of salmon with fresh seasonal vegetables with soft fluffy roast potatoes to die for, hubby had braised beef with vegetables and mash and seriously I could've had that too but that's me just being greedy. The kids enjoyed their cheesy macaroni with chips. Lovely ambiance atmosphere as we were made to feel at home with all the staff, now was the time for desserts and hey ho do I love my desserts or what!! We ended our night with sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble with custard and the most delicious trifle, we also topped ourselves up with teas, coffees and sugary shortbread. Hats off to the chef!!! This place is a must for us for the coming New Year, looking forward to it already. :)More

We visited the stables restaurant today as a treat for our elderly mother who hasn't been out for months . From the beginning when the starters arrived it became clear we were in for a disappointing dine in . The chili prawns were sat on...the cheapest of the cheap white sliced bread ?? Hello ...things have moved on from the 80's ! The pate also came with the same bread . Steak pie wasn't the best with a poor crust put on top that was limp when lifted off , salad leaves with my fish were going brown and not as fresh as they should have been however the fish was decent. Looks like it might have been the head chef's night off because I cannot believe the food is usually served like that I'm sorry but with the choice of restaurants in the area we won't be returning anytime soon . My only other regret was not taking photo's but I left my phone at home .More

We ordered takeaway food two days ago and we were surprised to see The Stables are now on Just Eat, the food arrived piping hot and very fast considering they are not normally a take away. Thought it should be mentioned what a great job...they are doing in lockdown. Wish them the bestMore

Had breakfast with my family, a vegetarian full breakfast, full Scottish breakfast and waffles. All were cooked very well, we thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so we thought we would give the takeaway a go. So glad we did, the chicken and leek pie was...really delicious, lasagne was cooked perfectly and kids chicken goujons were great also. Clean plates all round! Thank youMore

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning. Really varied menu for all tastes. My vegetarian daughter went for the avecado and toast though their was a full veggie breakfast available. The staff were friendly and helpful as always. It's clear to see that all covid...measures are in place and staff are on top of keeping it clean and safe. Really can't fault the quality And portion sizes . Will definetly be back soon. Thank youMore
