The 'Smiddy', is tucked away in the centre of town. You know it is good, when you are surrounded by locals! They take pride in serving good quality food reasonable priced. Don't be put off by the wait if there is a queue, as they will endeavour to seat you as soon as poss.

Absolutely amazing, would recommend this bistro to all of my friends and family. I shall defiantly be returning. I had steak and my partner had steak pie and both were absolutely delicious.

We found this Bistro by accident one Friday evening and we were extremely lucky to get the last table available. It is advisable to book as a number of people were turned away while we were there. We had the smoked seafood starter. The produce came from the Ford Smokehouse on Loch Awe and it is the best seafood starter... More

My husband and I went there for a special meal and were not disappointed. We had cullen skink and fish mains. The food was sublime and the service was cheery. Cannot fault.

Lovely little place to eat. Food is great. Best macaroni cheese I have had, and they have a lovely selection of home baked cakes you should definitely try.

The Smiddy is small so you would be advised to book as it's popular. The food is fresh and very tasty. It is a family friendly place with a limited menu that shows it's all freshly prepared. It is worth visiting if you enjoy good plain tasty British food

A delicious meal in very pleasant surroundings. Definitely a place to return to, if ever in the area. We all chose the chicken wrapped in bacon with haggis potatoes and whisky sauce. It was utterly delicious. The meals we saw coming out to others looked equally delicious and we'd have been happy with any of them. Chips were looking especially... More

This is a gem of a restaurant / bistro in Lochgilphead. There are so few places here at present to go out for an evening meal . Tonight's food was delicious and the service very good too. A great choice of menu and all freshly cooked to order. Well done Mr Fisher and your staff. We will be back, and... More

These are rather small premises but what the lack in space they certainly make up for in quality. It tends to be very busy over lunch time.

We were looking for places for lunch and came across The Smiddy Bistro hidden down a side street. Great signage though! We were very impressed, good home made food, a cosy friendly place. This was our last full day in Lochgilphead or we would have tried the dinner menu which also looked great. Definitely worth a visit if you're in... More
