Top Restaurants only dream of having west coast shellfish on their menus yet at the Tayvallich Inn they offer the best they can get that day from the Sound of Jura everyday and cooked to perfection by the chefs Busy with the locals, especially for the open acoustic jam sessions on Fridays, but also with visitors that arrive by yacht... Seafood doesn't get fresher than this. Entire menu is superb and includes very creative dishes. Quantities also very generous. Great bar, superb service and staff. Add the spectacular view and this adds up to a peak experience. Don't miss it.

Stopped off for lunch, wow, what a spot. Sat outside and soaked up the view, and had a lovely lunch, scallops for one and mussels for the other. .both were delicious..friendly staff, ...would go again if we're ever back in the area.

A lovely dinner with some very friendly staff, excellent with my food allergies! (Which is challenging- milk, eggs and nuts). Would definitely come back!

We were relative latecomers, booking on the phone as we travelled north. The Tayvallich Inn restaurant was full on a Friday night but we were invited to eat in the bar : "We won't let you go hungry". Indeed not. My crab and langoustine salad with real chips, his shepherd's pie with a secret ingredient were indeed to die for.... More

Four of us ate here as a group, two had a very good experience, the other two less so. Two of us took their Mussels in Cider with leeks and bacon which was a well cooked tasty meal. The mussels were excellent. One of the others had fish and chips - a small fish with a lot of batter, more... More

Was recommended this place by our B&B owner while staying in Oban as somewhere that served good seafood. We weren't disappointed the mussels were simply fab as were the starter scallops with chorizo, but the delux homemade burger was probably the best I've ever had Juicy and full of flavour yumm. It was a fairly busy lunch time when we... More

We've spent many a happy hour relaxing and watching the world go by from this beautifully located harbour inn. This year we were served a wide variety of seafood, most locally sourced. Real ales compliment the experience. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. For our non seafood friends there was a good selection of quality alternatives - they were... More

Description
Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food. Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.
