Beautiful location, friendly and efficient service and lovely food with seafood straight off the boat. Tayvallich is relatively remote - and this should be borne in mind when eating there. The pub and restaurant are important parts of the community and bring in regular trade and visitors. To eat in the restaurant it's necessary to book. In the bar, first... More

Were stopping nearby and walked down to the only pub in the village and what a treat Jules had crab with prawns and I had half a lobster, and wow, it was all delicious If we lived nearer here, this would be the 'go to' place to take anyone for their birthday or that special meal The local people have... Lunch here on 21st September. We both had the half lobster with squat prawns which was beautiful. The price was a very reasonable £16.95 and worth every penny. One thing we loved was the fact that each table in the bar was made of different local wood and had a small brass plaque on it saying where it was from... More

This pub has a restaurant, but we used the bar which serves the same food. A good range of local fish and seafood done in tempting ways was available along with other dishes. Well cooked and presented. Some good local ales. Staff were very helpful.

My husband and I first went for dinner here for our anniversary 3 years ago and the food did not disappoint then and coming back with our daughter in tow we felt nothing had changed. It's the perfect location for both romantic or a family setting. What truly makes this place though is the freshly caught fish and specials board.... More

this lovely inn can get very busy due, maybe, to the campsite next door. We ate in the dining room which lacks the vibe of the bar area. The view is wonderful, the beer is good and the food is even better. Staff are friendly and service reasonably quick, considering the food is cooked to order. The lasses behind the... More

Tayvallich is a beautiful place to visit. We went to the inn to sample the seafood. Ok if you like scallops: they were delicious. Prawns and salmon were also nice. Mussels ok too. Lobster and squat lobster were a first: a tad rubbery but not sure if it's supposed to be like that?! Fish and chips ok. All in all... More

Super location, right on the lochside, meaning a lovely outlook when dining. A friendly welcome from the young staff, very professional and smiley. Good choice on the menu, including local shellfish. Generous portions, beautifully presented, and very tasty indeed. Would certainly return if we were lucky enough to be in this lovely part of the world again.

Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food. Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.
