If your looking for a proper good home cooked meal, this is the place to come. I've eaten here a few times and the food is just incredible. The lasagne, lamb casserole and breaded Camembert were my favourites.

We had lunch there on Saturday and although very busy the bar staff were very attentive. The food was really excellent for five very hungry sailors and really 'hit the mark' The food and drink was excellent value and we really enjoyed the ambience.

Had two evening meals here while staying in B and B nearby. Enjoyed good company with locals even though I was on my own and met some interesting visitors too. Straight forward pub food in plentiful quantity in a warm buzz atmosphere at a reasonable no nonsense price.

Traditional pub with great food at a very good price. Gets really busy early evening with people eating but usually quietens down by around 8:30 once the food finishes. Feels like a "Locals" pub, not competing with the tourist bars and is all the better for it. Could do with a sot of redecorating but I guess that would spoil... More

We enjoyed good home cooked meals at the McDonald Arms Hotel. Good value, good portions and tasty bar food. A wide variety of meals available in the pub bar.

Loved it: very friendly and cosy place to hang out with friends. Had a great veggie burger. It was a tad on the greasy side but not in a yukky way! Cheap and cheerful - and friendly. Will visit again

In a world of fancy dishes, sometimes its good to have decent pub grub which is well cooked and presented. The menu has plenty of pub classics as well as baked spuds, toasties and homemade soup all at reasonable prices. We were recommended this place by the man in the museum - he said it was a local favourite and... More

A friend recommended the Arms for a reasonably priced meal and I was delighted we gave it a go. It doesn't claim to be an upmarket restaurant - it is what it is - a local pub serving excellent quality food at a good price The landlady cooks it all fresh - In fact, while we were outside looking at... Homely bar which doubles as an hotel. Very friendly staff, and good food til 8pm. As I drink draft beer, I was a little disappointed that the bitter beer,(70shilling,) was served via the cooler, which takes away the flavour, however, this seems to be the norm.

First time in Tobermory on a day trip from Oban. Walking along the front the rain started and we dived into the place just before Lunch time on a Wednesday. Old style bar area with a few local, regular customers installed on their favourite perches. Got the usual very friendly Hebridean welcome from staff and customers and girl behind the... More
