A November Saturday night in Stornoway, not many places open. Credit to the County for being open and bustling. The restaurant/ bar is decorated in modern style but lacks any real atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming but more interested in their phones than attentive service. The food however was the real disappointment. The menu has twin Indian and... More

The restaurant serves British and Indian food both are very nice indeed. The monk fish tails in pancetta were first class, well cooked and presented. The lamb rogan josh was also excellent, enough to that you were no longer hungry but not bloated. Decent selection of beer on tap and bottles, wine was a reasonable price. Access is easy enough,... I visited this restaurant the last time I was on the Isle of Lewis. I was so disappointed I had to leave a review. A year on and we were back on the island and a friend suggested a get together, the venue - The County! My reaction - Shock! Horror! My friend knew about my last visit but informed... More

We ate here three times on a recent visit to Stornoway. The Mussels and Langoustines were superb. The service was was very friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to reccomend this restaurant.

The worst night had in a very long time. Lovely lovely staff with friendly service - but could never say the same about the boss. Made my group feel very uncomfortable to the extent where we had to tell a member of staff. Witnessed him shouting to three of the staff members in the middle of the restaurant and was... More

After our long trip from New York, this nice place fed us rally well. There are two menus - one "regular" and one Indian. I ordered fish pie, which was rather like shepherds pie with salmon, and it was delicious. This place was good for my vegetarian gluten free daughter in law - w ate here twice!

Our food was tasty but the wall by our table was covered in food splatter and someone had even scribbled in pencil on the wall. It really needed a good scrub. Yuk!

A great meal at a great price in a relaxing location. Almost made me forget that I was at a working dinner rather than a relaxing meal with a group of friends.

Whenever you go through the door you enter a modern bistro type restaurant. It was a Monday night and very busy so we got the last available seats. A really good menu and keen prices too. My wife had the fish pie which was very tasty and I had the Chicken fajitas which were probably the best I have ever... More
