We cycled around the Castle grounds and then went for coffee. Having been let down further up the coast I was delighted with both the scones and the coffee here. Reasonably priced and very good quality. Lunch menu looked good e.g. Baked pots/Panini etc but we had a picnic so left after coffee.

Beautiful building, easy to stop by after a walk in the castle grounds. There is beautiful art for sale on the walls. Wildlife information and local history on offer to read. The outside seating area would be terrific if not for the rain and mud. Large windows that let in huge amounts of light. The tables were slightly too small.... More

Stopped here while walking in the grounds and the scones were freshly made. Huge especially if having jam and cream! Coffee was very tasty too. The weather was good so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Worth the walk from the town.

We stopped here for a pit stop coffee after our walk around Lewes Castle grounds - the Woodlands cafe is situated within the grounds of the castle. The cafe was very busy as there were a couple of thousand cruise passengers in town, I would imagine that its not usually as busy as this! Prices were very reasonable and the... More

First time here on our annual cycle visit. Will certainly be going out of way to revisit. Even though was for a coffee / tea stop the cakes were excellent. Aroma of the soup was too much for wife so she had that to start. Food going to other tables looked very tasty. Home baking was so good I went... More

A nice place for some relaxing when you are strolling the grounds around Lews Castel. Good food and drink with friendly staff.

Stumbled upon this by accident! It was great as the food was lovely and we could take the dog as we were able to eat outside because of the beautiful weather. They even provide water for the dogs.

My husband and I visit every week. We love heading in for breakfast where we get warm scones or as a special treat full breakfast. All served with one of the best places for fresh coffee, get Emma to prepare you some fabulous freshly ground coffee yummy. My favourite is the florentine cakes yum . There is a selection of... Good fresh food and good sized portions but hard to find!! Some clearer signs from the main drive would be helpful. We were also unimpressed with the gift shop- we expected this to have more Hebridean offerings to support local industry but there was artisan soap from England (even though there are several soap producers on the island) and the... We stopped off in Stornoway and came across this little gem. We had the dogs with us so we sat outside and had coffee and cake. Had we been more hungry, we would have ordered food as it looked really nice, but the coffee/hot chocolate/tea and cakes were really nice and great value for money! If you are in Stornoway... More
