About
Join us for southern home-style cooking and hospitality! We are a local family-owned full-service restaurant with an extensive menu as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Located on the corner from the historic Monroe County Courthouse in downtown Madisonville. We're a regular for locals and for those passing thru who've been tipped to dine here. Courtesy car from Monroe County airport and motorcycle clubs welcome. Call in advance for groups so we can be prepared.

The best I can tell you is that this place will ruin all other home cooking restaurants for you.
Get the hot bar and you won’t be sorry, especially since it comes with a whole host of homemade desserts. And even if you don’t think you like greens, GET THEM.
Lord help your waistline if you live in this town.

If your hungry after hiking or driving the back roads and your in the rea give this place a try. their buffet for $10 bucks is fantastic. Everything is fresh, with salad bar, hot foods including fried fish, and chicken (excellent) some meats and hot vegetables, plus biscuits and bread and dessert! All very good at a great price.

Quite the surprise! We were staying up the mountain in a cabin about 5 miles away and decided to try this little small town cafe one morning. By far one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve ever had (besides Disney). The Little omelettes and pancakes were my favorite. The best chocolate gravy we’ve had at a restaurant. We dipped the French toast sticks in the chocolate gravy and it was quite the treat!

We were so excited to try this place and have a good country buffet so close to home. Getting there at noon, we thought we would have a nice lunch however, They had their breakfast buffet still going. They told us it would be until 12:45pm. Their regular menu is pretty disappointing- sandwiches and salads mostly. I have a hard time paying $10 for something I can whip up at home. My kids and I decided to do the breakfast which was pretty typical, nothing overly exciting. My husband ordered fried fish off the menu which was just average. However, the lunch buffet started early, just after his food arrived. Fried fish was on the buffet and the buffet was $1 cheaper than his meal off the menu. I know times are hard and everywhere is short staffed, but this kinda just stunk to be honest with you. Overall the food was below mediocre. Sides weren’t very flavorful but the fried chicken was amazing. The pies were great! It just wasn’t the experience you typically have at a southern buffet. I’d stick with Shoney’s next time.

Oh my! So sorry!! Most of our guests LOVE coming in the middle of breakfast lunch but Saturday can be a little confusing and I apologize. We hope you come back and try us again soon as we are for excellence food and service. Thank you

This morning we were in need of breakfast while on the road and saw a trip advisor high rating for Donna’s in Madisonville so we stopped in. We found they had a breakfast bar for $11.99 each so we tried it. We found out this did not include our coffees. They were able to provide us fried eggs to order with our breakfast bar meal which were cooked great but that was where the good breakfast ended. The bacon and ham was unrecognizable, in fact it was hard to tell what most items were. The biscuits looked beautiful but they were cold and hard. The fried bologna was excellent so I did eat that. The items I enjoyed were the hot coffee, to order fried eggs and the fried bologna. The potatoes were dry and cold, the sausage was over cooked and crumbly, the ham was tough and seemed old, the bacon was very poor quality and didn’t even look like bacon. Thirty one dollars for 2 people later we left very disappointed with our breakfast choice.

My mother and I on this Labor Day weekend decided to take a drive and stopped here for a late lunch on our way back home! This place is quaint and amazing.
They have a great breakfast and diner buffet and many menu options and various choices.
Upon entering you feel a sense of a welcoming atmosphere and the staff that was very accommodating and friendly during all the busyness.
We went with the buffet;
The Meats were: Chicken Livers-Beef Tips in Gravy-Fried Chicken-Fried Fish-Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tenders-Chicken and Dumplings
The Vegetables and Other:
Mashed Potatoes-Potato Cakes-Carrots-Cabbage-Green Beans-Turnip Greens-Macaroni and Cheese-Creamed Corn-Pinto Beans-Hushpuppies-Cornbread. And an amazing fresh salad bar with many great fresh veggies and more! Also deserts :) . The Quailty and Food was superb , I highly recommend and will be back! Amazing first time experience~
On the Menu; Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Chicken and Fish Dinners and All the sides and so much more!

Overall a good small town restaurant that specializes in a buffet.
We were in town after a day just driving around and decided to try this cafe. Parking was easy and easy to see the cafe on the corner.
Once inside we couldn’t figure out the system. No one greeted us, so we had to ask a local if had to wait or just sit. She said sit anywhere. There are steps that lead up to a banquet hall and on your left the cashier where you check out. When you head to the back room, there are more tables and a buffet/hot bar.
My husband got the buffet while I chose to order off the menu. There wasn’t enough non-ham items. Let’s just say, if you go into a buffet it is best to eat at the buffet. Ordering off the menu wasn’t my best decision.
The food, once I got it was excellent. It’s just the time I had to sit there and wait that wasn’t acceptable. My husband refused to go back to the buffet until I had my food in front of me.
30+ minutes later I got my food. It was very good and the waitress apologized. I did get a discount (I didn’t want it free). But, for me, next time I’ll focus on the main product which is the buffet.
Regarding the buffet, my husband enjoyed everything he ate. It is definitely a hangout where the locals eat. It’s cute inside and the staff is very friendly.

It was well worth it. Quaint little town the restaurant is part of. Loved the “”Southern Hospitality”” of our waitress.
We had the Buffett. My favorite was the cabbage that must be a “cabbage casserole”.
Go try it out...See what you think..my family loved it.

If you’re looking for a great local place with a breakfast buffet OR dinner buffet, this is the place! If you’re looking for great food, this is also the place! Super friendly staff as well. It’s another small little down home local find for me! We have been several times now!

We arrived at 7am. The restaurant is decorated beautifully in an old bank building. Coffee was good. We had the buffet. Spouse gave biscuits and gravy a 6. Grits were bland. The buffet had a good variety of breakfast items. There are healthier items to choose from menu, but why?! We will come back it’s local for us. I want to try lunch. The staff attentive and pleasant also.

This is a food place to stop and eat. They have a good buffet. The only thing is they don't salt or pepper their vegetables. They had 3 different meats. Bunch of vegetables. Small but nice salad bar. Then dessert. They also have a menu. The prices are good. Street parking right in front of the doors. It's in a really pretty old bank building. I will return.

The whole family loved it! We had the lunch buffet and enjoyed tasting everything: fried fish, corn and potato soup, biscuits, corn bread, potato pancakes, fried chicken, green beans, turnip greens, bread pudding, buttermilk pie, cherry pie, and jello. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Excellent meal! We chose the lunch buffet. The items were all fresh and tasty. Felt like i was eating out of my grandmas kitchen. Servers were efficient and friendly. We will definitely return!!!
