We visited the Skerries Bistro whilst on holiday in Orkney on the one day it was warm enough to sit outside. The facilities were spotless. The staff were very attentive and accommodating and the views across the Pentland Firth are amazing. The food was lovely and there was a good choice. I had the seafood platter which was particulaly good.

My wife and I ate a very good lunchtime meal of fresh local scallops and lobster at this modern restaurant near the Tomb of the eagles with excellent views over the sea. Table service was excellent and there is free parking adjacent the restaurant.

What a great place even just for coffee and delicious cakes, would certainly go back , although it is fairly isolated, and a car essential to get there , we were amazed that some tables were reserved for lunch.

I've been meaning to visit for ages as I heard some good reviews. The view is lovely, however the place itself really lacked any sort of atmosphere. We went for lunch and both chose the seafood chowder. What a massive disappointment! It's was basically a bowl of cream with a few bits of flaky fish and one mussel! The flavour... More

We had just arrived on Orkney and visited the Tomb of the Eagles when we saw a sign for this restaurant and thought we'd try our luck. Parking with the motor home was difficult but the boss/staff came out and showed me a good spot. We went in and the place was packed, a good sign as to the quality... More

Definitely worth a trip out to. Rolling sea views and a welcoming atmosphere. Local and fresh produce including seafood platters, sandwiches, soups and cakes. All to an amazing standard and even kids were happy with their lunch.

But you may want to book a table first. This is a seafood restaurant. There may be one vegetarian dish, but it is mostly fish and seafood. The seafood platter was amazing. Just enough of each to get a good taste but not be overfull. 2 of our party could not eat fish or the vegetarian dish, but they were... More

We were touring the South part of Orkney earlier today and discovered that Skerries restaurant was close to the amazing Tomb of Eagles attraction - it was therefore not difficult to opt to visit the restaurant for lunch. Sadly, there was no lobster on offer that day but we both had the scallops on asparagus as starters followed by a... More
