Visited one night for drinks with the family and then a few days later for a girlie celebratory lunch. On both occasions we sat in the bar and staff could not have been more helpful. They were able to advise on every drink from whiskey to fruit cider. The Isle of Arran sharing platter was lovely and more than enough... More

What else would you do on Arran on a wet miserable day? Dine in the Douglas. Lovely variety of dinners, courteous bar & waiting staff. Started with Creelers salmon fish cakes - fab and a good portion size, seafood linguini delicious, fish &chips, curry delightful. No wifi due to some problem however, having visited a few times there always appears to... More

We ate here twice on a 3 day stay in Brodick. There is wide choice of good food at a reasonable price.

Went here with my parents and my 6 yr old son, lovely setting with great views. Hotel is really nice inside and out, upon arrival we walked into the bistro to find many tables uncleared and some not wiped, this was a little frustrating as we had to move things about and then ask the waiter to give the table... I went with my 2 young children and they they liked the food. I only had a burger but the food was great. Best thing on this occasion was the staff. We were in a side room which happened to have a tv on the wall. I asked the staff if I could put it on for the kids and... More

We had arrived on the ferry from Ardrossan and had planned to hop on a bus to see some of the island however after waiting for a while and no buses we decided that the Douglas Hotel looked like a reasonable place to get a coffee and take stock! It was, what a big bright airy Bistro, very smart staff,... More

I have been visiting Arran each year for 17 years and have previously visited this Hotel. It is a beautiful refurbishment where no expense appears to have been spared. The food is excellent and prices are reasonable. However, when I visited today, I noticed a sign adjacent to the bar which instructed patrons to collect their cutlery (situated right next... More

We stopped here for lunch as the bar restaurant is dog friendly. Great selection of dishes on the menu with friendly helpful staff. We all really enjoyed the meal. Although it was busy, we were served pretty quickly. Would definitely go there again.
