It was a great surprise that my brother booked dinner for us during a recent trip back home to Scotland. Although Craig and Vicky now oversee the second restaurant in Edinburgh the high standards of excellent food still remain. It always a delight to eat here and will look forward to my next visit to NQ.

It makes the freshest food, beautifully cooked and presented in a relaxed, friendly intimate space. No fancy prices, just terrific service and quality. What a find!

Very good and reasonably priced set lunch. Usually full so booking highly recommended and they also now have a sister restaurant in Edinburgh although not been to that one yet. Like its' name suggests, it is wee and somewhat cramped inside when full. 2 courses for 18 quid - what I remember best was their extremely light gnocchi, which I... More

Delighted to get a table at short notice. Ambience excellent, I thought menu was great, partner felt it was limited. French onion soup, followed by rib eye that was very tasty. Service excellent, £45 a head for two courses and a bottle of nice wine. Would defo go back again. A few extra notes of flavour and pizzazz and this... More

An early lunch planned for my fiancée, our 8 week old little girl and myself. Menu was delightfully Scottish, prepared with only the finest, quality, and fresh ingredients. Cooked perfectly and served pipping hot (despite taking turns to feed our little one during the main course). Good size portions so we weren't disappointed! The staff were delightful-I had to change... More

We were a party of 4 and had an excellent lunch there from the set menu. The food was of a high standard, the waitress very pleasant and helpful, and the ambiance of the place all amounted to a great lunchtime spent. The homemade bread and dip before our meal was great value at £3.50, and we ordered a second... More

The lunch menu is rather restricted but had a reasonable variety of dishes. The homemade bread brought at the start was excellent - some of the best I have tasted for a while. We all had the cod which was extremely good. A generous portion of obviously locally sourced, very fresh fish. Delicious. The pecan tart was excellent and the... More

Lovely little restaurant. Good service and exceptionally good food. My only disappointment was that the area we were sitting in (the window table) was filthy. Crumbs and dirt under the table and chairs and a dead spider in the window. The standard of food was fantastic but this did let the experience down for me a little

Nice well cooked food but small portions, over priced wines, waitresses under qualified, a mitchelin wanabee but not up to standard £28 two course menu but with a supplement of £6.50 on a rib eye steak. Way too over priced. One slice of bread per person, any more requires a £3 supplement. Give it a miss.
