Apparently as you visit JD distillery you can't do without having lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's. Well we did so and whilst it might not be to everyone's taste, some of the dishes were just amazing! I loved the meatloaf and the deep fried ocra. Really worth the visit and pretty cheap considered what you get.

Had dinner at Miss Bobos yesterday the hostess and servers and house were wonderful but the food was disappointing. Good meatloaf but cold, cold rice casserole and cold and dry tasting catfish. The food was average at best The best part of the dinner were the bourbon apples that were cold. Maybe we just hit an off day but we were... More

The staff was friendly. However, the food was tasteless lukewarm and all the food was on the table. Cat fish was dry meatloaf was below par. We reserved our spot last April and we're looking forward to a fun experience around a table with others. Instead we had to listen to a lady talk through our meal with really no... More

Had lunch here with a large group. As you've read, it's an old boarding house. Lunch is served family style in the Southern tradition. Whatever they're making, you eat. No menu. Whatever it is, there's plenty of it, and it is good. You will sit at a large table with a hostess who will engage you in polite conversation and... More

We came here after our Jack Daniels tour. My friends made the reservation so I didn't have any idea what to expect. Our group of 10 had a private dining area that was once one of the boarding house rooms. The hostess Joy had quaint history about the house and the area to share while we feasted. Fried chicken, macaroni... More

My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions and it is always great food and conversation among the guests at your dining table. We have dropped in without reservations , but I would recommend obtaining a reservation. They will only serve so many guests at a seating and to avoid being disappointed , call ahead. The food is... Beautiful historic home set in a charming tiny town. Wonderful place to walk and shop. Food was old fashioned southern fare served family style. Our hostess was gracious and was able to supply us with local history. Be sure to make reservations.

We made reservations to eat lunch here after we toured the Jack Daniel's Distillery. The appearance of the house/restaurant and the gift shop were very appealing. The staff is extremely courteous and hospitable - I loved having a hostess while we sat down to eat family style to tell us stories. The food is very good and you definitely get... More

Miss Mary Bobo's is a must when visiting Lynchburg. Be sure to make a reservation. We didn't know that and luckily we were taking a tour at the Jack Daniel's Distillery when our tour guide, Martha told us we needed to make reservations. They will take your credit card over the phone. Cost for our meal was $21.00 per person.... More

Great dinner at Miss Mary Bobo's which is served at designated times and reservations are highly recommended. Consisted of fried chicken, pulled pork, potatoes, veggie casserole and Jack Daniels Baked Apples which are to die for. Give it a try if you have the time and can coordinate your tour of the Jack Daniels Distillery.
