We absolutely loved this place! The communal table and family style servings were fun and inviting. Our host, Benji, sat at the table with us and told stories about growing up in the area, the history of the house, and answered questions from the guests. The food was delicious...especially the broccoli casserole! I would certainly go again.

We had to wait quiet a while past our reservation. Even though all the dining rooms were empty they would not let us in them to sit down. We had to wait outside in the heat. A lot of us had to stand in the heat. They put all the food out before they let customers sit down. We would... More

As always, the food was amazing! This is the second time we have had Ms. Theo for a hostess and she is a hoot!! She discusses the local "recipe" as well as how many steps it is to the local liquor store. Loved her! Ask for Ms Theo as your hostess and you will be entertained as well as well-fed.

The food was Ok but the atmosphere is excellent. Very friendly hosts and we were lucky to dine with some lovely patrons. The host shared lots about the areas history and everyone was very welcoming.

Miss Mary Bobo's is one of those places you should at least go one time. The atmosphere and historical significance is worth the price and the food is really good.

A wonderful piece of history for Lynchburg whilst having some wonderful home cooking. You get to sit around a huge dining table and make friends with people from all around the world. The food is outstanding and well worth a visit but you have to book.

I've heard about this place for several years and really wanted to go. Made reservations about 3-4 days in advance and 2 of the 3 seating a were available. As everyone has reviewed, we were seated at a table with other guests and our particular table had a lazy Susan which was perfect for this type of dinner. We were... More

Weeks ahead we made reservations for lunch. You are called by your hostess to one of several small dining rooms. There you will meet your fellow diners, as lunch is served family style. Your hostess will give you a history of Mary Bobo's and explain the menu. It's a true southern menu with fried chicken, creamed corn, fried okra, and... More

Second visit and just as fantastic as the first...Family style with individuals from all over the country...After "round the table" introductions, conversation was exchanged with those sitting next to us...Will make reservations when visiting again.

Fabulous southern comfort food, sweet hostess, interesting lunch conversation at this family style dinner table. (In the South the noon time meal is called dinner.) Worth a drive. Don't miss eating here!
