This place is in the historic Lynchburg square. It came recommended by the locals but I wasn’t all that impressed.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly.
We ordered nachos, a hot dog and a grilled cheese. The service was rough. They only have bottled drinks...- including water. Tea was the only unbottled option but good luck on refills. Servers were very unorganized and were just asking for patience the minute you walked in the door. As we ordered our food our server said .. it’ll be a while so .... sorry. The food was fine. Sauces were pretty good.
The real issue occurred when we tried to pay. There was a line out the door of people trying to pay. The lady running the register (middle/older aged - said she had been there just 7 days) was horribly rude. She was yelling at customers and being so snippy. Every time she answered the phone she made rude comments about how someone else should be answering the phone. There were two ladies who waited over 15 minutes (at minimum) just to place a to go order. The man trying to pay in front of me didn’t have a ticket - he said I had the brisket sandwich and a water. And she started yelling at him that he didn’t have a ticket and what kind of brisket did he get, etc. She was wildly unprofessional and tainted the whole experience for me. As someone in the restaurant business, I would’ve fired her on the spot. She makes customers feel like a nuisance, not to mention she rang our food up completely wrong and overcharged us. I know help is hard to find these days - but she’s not it.More
2 couples went for lunch. Greeted by the Store Cat on the front porch! Quick seating and service. Reasonable selection of draft and can/bottled beers. Loaded Baked Potatoes ordered by the ladies were HUGE and delicious. My buddy’s Pulled Pork sandwich was huge and gone...quickly. I was the Big Winner with the house specialty, the Grilled Cheese on Crack. The name doesn’t do it justice. The pulled pork on top was tender, moist and tasty. I gotta try the brisket next time. The Grilled Cheese had so much pork it took 2 hands to hold each 1/2 of the sandwich! Big shout out to our Server, Ms. Becca, and also to the Hostess Sherry Lynn. I know y’all are in a contest, but my momma didn’t raise no fool. Besides my wife, I ain’t pickin a favorite between two women!More
I always order the pulled pork my first visit to any BBQ joint. Their pp was tender, Smokey & did not need any needed sauce although their signature sauce is tangy sweet goodness. Staff was very friendly and when I asked to see their smoker...they took me back to see the lovely butts smoking. young lady was glad I was enjoying the pork because she has had to take over for the boss this round and smiled that it met with our delight. not good with names but all staff was wonderfulMore
