I haven't had lunch in Ballynahinch in a long time since being diagnosed with coeliac disease as in my experience the only gf option is often a bland old baked potato. However we called into The Primrose on Friday and I was pleasantly surprised at how extensive the gluten free menu is. Not only do they have a separate gf... More

We recently ate here as a group of 6. We were given a lovely booth seat where we could have a good catch up. The girl who took our order was lovely and have some good advice. We shared 4 starters between us and really enjoyed all of them. The firecracker chicken was yummy and quite different to any chicken... More

Celebrated our parents wedding anniversary in this wonderful restaurant. Kevin and his staff put on amazing array of food which was outstanding. The staff were so pleasant, attentive and professional, nothing was a bother to them. They made the night so special for my parents. The Ambience is amazing in the Primrose. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a meal... More

Food was excellent and service very good - good variety on menu. Buzzy atmosphere. Only drawback was we hadn't been advised on booking that the table was needed in just over an hour. Just had main course as time limited. Finished our drinks in bar area to vacate the table on time.

Revisited here on Friday 10th February Once again the ambience and great food in the company of good friends made this a memorable evening Thanks to Pamela and all the staff. They have kept the torch shining brightly whilst Kevin has been on hid holidays in S America. Who knows what culinary delights await us in the future!

I have visited the primrose on various occasions and the food has always been good but on this occasion it was awful. I got a beef dish which came floating in stock with noodles and large mushrooms. There was chilli slices in it and the dish still tasted of nothing. It was completely tasteless with no flavour at all.

After a visit at Castle Ward we (a party of four) stopped at the Primrose for some grub. The place was packed and the staff all had their hands full. We were approached by a lovely waitress telling us that the restaurant was indeed full, but that they'd be glad to seat us by the bar. Service was quick and... More

Took my sister for lunch. The service was excellent but disappointed with my meal . Presentation was lovely. The fish sauce was tasteless, the mashed veg watery & tasteless. The meal could have beeen hotter. Smallish portions. We were hungry within a couple of hours. Not what I would have hoped for.
