The place was really busy as it was Christmas Eve, hats off the staff as they served great food and keep the overall service at a high level. There was also a nice treat of mulled cider to welcome & warm up revellers coming in from the street. The food was really tasty and better than expected, great choice on... More

Booked in for a family meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful food... we had leek & potatoe soup, I had stuffed chicken and the boys had steaks... everything was delicious, staff were excellent and bill was not overly expensive! Can't wait to go back'

We were excited to get a girls post-Christmas dinner out. The place looks really well after their refurbishment. We all ordered chicken dishes, during which I said 'I just can't eat anymore of this' as the chicken bits were overcooked and hard to chew. My friends said the same. One ate all of hers as she was really hungry. The... More

I have lived in the local area for about 20 years and I'd say I've eaten in the primrose only a handful of time. Purely because it's on my door step and I usually go further a field for a meal. I called in one busy Friday between Christmas and the new year and I must say the staff were... More

Have always enjoyed the food in the Primrose until a few days ago. Called for lunch and my wife and I were very disappointed. I had the burger which was burnt and difficult to eat. Please learn how to make tobaccan onions. The dish was very poor. My wife had the curry which was also disappointing. Seemed it had been... More

Was in the Primrose Tuesday past for a lunch, upstairs for a party of 60. The food was exceptional! Pamela and the staff were brilliant. The food was hot, served promptly and delicious! Was there again on Saturday night ( Christmas Eve) and again food was excellent, no complaints and clean plates all round! It's a popular bar and yes... More

Staff should tell you when you ask for sparkling water that you will be served the Primrose's own sparkling water costing £2 (presumably filtered tap water with a fizz). I might have preferred Ballygowan? Garlic wedges also are not roast potatoes with a bit of garlic butter on top.

Some of our parties food was good while some was cold and overcooked. Service was satisfactory and surroundings were comfortable.
