The food was reasonably priced, very well prepared and tasted good. Despite being very busy the staff were polite and helpful. All the tables were taken while we were there so if might be useful to reserve a table if you plan to go there.

We ate here 3 times during our short stay in the area. The menu was varied and the food was very well cooked. It can get very busy early evening, so if you can try to book a table. If you are Real Ale fans, which unfortunately we aren't, then this is a great place.

We arrived late in the village, camping at Tom's Field. Found this just as it was the closest. Brilliant "locals" atmosphere - they had a charity cheese and wine night on and were extremely welcoming! Food was basic but decent and filling, and there was a brilliant range of gins and ales. Just what we needed and would definitely return

Stopped off in Wareham for lunch on the way home from a family holiday. Unsure where to go we stumbled across this pub just by chance as many others to choose from but was very glad to have stopped here. Fish pie from the specials board was amazing and portion sizes very generous! Whole family enjoyed their meals. Staff very... More

Asked for a Diet Coke no ice and it really frustrates me when they don't listen then heap glass to top with ice. However forgetting that had couple of sandwiches these where £6 each. I thought that a bit much but did come with chips. Beer was good choices 4 ales on. Seems a locals pub. Lucky to get a... More

Popped into this pub for a quick drink twice in the last month, once as a couple and once with grown up family. Haven't eaten there yet, but it has seemed busy both times and the meals seemed ample and appreciated, so must try that later. Touched by the really cosy feel just stepping in off the main (North) street.... More

We turn up for evening meal. The barman (landlord?) is quiet and not forthcoming, no welcome, but the beer is well kept, and we enjoy it. My wife and I order meals, choosing two of the specials. When they arrive my wife rapidly realizes that her generously large, grilled trout is half-raw. No sign of server, so I explain her... More

Excellent local pub. Didn't eat there, just beers which were well kept and well priced. Log fire and interesting local characters - I went to school in Hadfield which is where they filmed The League of Gentlemen and felt right at home...........

The place was packed out with locals on a Saturday night - always a good sign. Very friendly and welcoming bar staff and regulars. There was a roaring fire going and a great atmosphere topped off with a wide range of good ales and excellent pinot grigio. Great pit stop before having a curry just down the road.
