It was my mum's 82nd birthday and she wanted to eat lunch in The Lobster Pot. We booked a table by the window at 12 noon, we were asked if we wanted balloons up, we said yes, fantastic! But our car slowly ground to a halt on the traffic lights just before Swannery Bridge, by B&Q, in Weymouth. The RAC... More

I visited Portland Bill as I like to when I am in the area and have a lovely crab sandwich. I have to say that this year the cost of a crab sandwich had escalated to £8.50. Last year the sandwiches were full of white crab meat this year lots of brown paste with a just a sprinkling of white... More

Wonderfully located on Portland Bill but the food and drink is expensive. Wish they used tea-bags instead of leaf tea. Cream tea was lovely with fresh baked scones.

What's not to like about this place. Seating both inside and out. Efficient and friendly staff serving good value food. All in a perfect location.

The restaurant was lovely, clean and fresh, warm and welcoming. The staff were very welcoming and although the place was very busy, nothing seemed too much trouble, which was a boon as we had two small toddlers in tow. The food was excellent, very fresh and very yummy....so good we went back the day after for another meal, and we're... More

The crab sandwiches and Dorset cream tea were delicious. The waiters and waitresses although very busy were polite and efficient. We didn't wait long for our order. It is a typical English sea side restaurant / cafe - very friendly and has an informal atmosphere. The tea is served in a tea pot with extra hot water, so we could... More

On the most southerly tip of Portland, adjacent to the Lighthouse and car park and an ideal spot for walking or just looking at (generally rough) seas. Well insulated and soundproofed. The Lobster Pot is ideal whatever the weather outside. Good selection of basic fare that is well cooked, prepared and tasty (best chips I had for a long time).... More
