Large beer garden with fabulous views over the fields to Corfe castle. Car park at the back and some parking on the road but can get busy in the summer so don't leave it too late!

Plus points - great views from garden Negative points 1. food sounds great on menu but turned out bland for all of us 2. Food offering over priced for what it is but with the beautiful view it balances things out 3. Very odd serving policy of only serving snacks and sandwiches outside and not hot food. When we asked... Went in for a bit of lunch and thought a simple sandwich would be easy enough. The prawn sandwich was clearly not fresh and packed with butter, the tables were left dirty with glasses all over. After nicely explaining to the rather stupid waiting staff about the issue, I was unprofessionally told all chefs have called off sick and they... More

A beautifully refurbished country pub situated between Corfe Castle and Swanage. We were too late for the full lunch time menu but were offered a light bites menu and we chose the Scott mixed platter which easily fed two. There are several Dorset real ales to try and some good wines. It was a miserable day but there was a... More

Well living in the local area we only seem to visit this restaurant once every few years and each time we do we realise why we don't visit more often. We arrived on a weekday at 12:30 to a completely empty car park. Once inside it was also completely empty it was like a ghost ship. An occasional staff member... More

Positive: The food was very good to excellent. For the most part, we ordered from the specials board (the lamb shank was a favorite). The real ale was worth every penny (Jurassic Ale was enjoyed by all). The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable (we were in the suite with living and dining areas), which... More

Visited again after numerous ups and downs and it's a shame that as a local they still haven't got it right Mother in law and myself had scampi and chips that was okay but a tad expensive My partner being a vegetarian order the 13 quid Moroccan stew It was awful just a plate of apricots with a small portion... I have lived in the area for many years and visit the Scott Arms regularly. Its location makes it a "must visit", particularly if we have visitors staying, the view is stupendous. The décor and warmth of the place, particularly after a walk in the winter, make it very inviting...so its really a shame that I cannot give the place... More

Visited after a long walk for a quick beer or two and was still there for dinner! Good honest food! but a bit pricey for what is is. Great views over the valley.
