Very good local pub - Good food and fantastic staff

We had dinner with friends last Friday evening in this local pub in Corfe Castle. I was told that the food was good, however I was expecting to be offered traditional pub food. I could not have been more wrong. The menu offered a variety of dishes including scallops and moules marinieres. The... read more

We had dinner with friends last Friday evening in this local pub in Corfe Castle. I was told that the food was good, however I was expecting to be offered traditional pub food. Small, friendly pub that was perfect for four close people to sit and have a traditional pub lunch. It was nice to have a traditional roast with medium-rare beef. The starter, whitebait, which I shared was tasty too and enough for two people to share. My friend asked for hers without gravy and when it came with gravy, the waiter... More

Not gastro food but very good and generous helpings of home-cooked type dishes....great after walking all day in a rustic setting. Fairy lights on ceiling there all year apparently....felt like Christmas still. Don't expect top restaurant food but hearty neverthelss and one orders food at the bar so no waiter service as such albeit that the food is delivered to... More

Just on the outskirts of Corfe this is a very friendly pub serving very good home made, home sourced food . The shepards pie and steak and ale pie are to die for .And the restaurant sports a real wood fire . Plenty of off road parking and in good weather you can sit outside and eat . What more... More

We stayed in the village for the weekend. Stayed at a nearby Hotel. Dining at a number of places including The Castle Inn. Good food, Great Service and there was even live music.

Four of us went for traditional Sunday lunch. The food was stunning, home made soups and local pork and beef sourced only five miles away. Charming landlady Laurice and a helpfull young server George. A great afternoon.

Think the title says it all, we visited in a rainy jan afternoon, fancied a glass of wine and some homely food, had the steak and ale pie, and the beef stew with dumplings, sat by the fire , with a lovely bottle of red. Waitress was very friendly and lovely, food was great .... Loved it !

Although I have never visited The Castle Inn before, my brother has and enjoyed it. He therefore booked for New Year's Eve. We sat at the front of the pub - probably the bar turned into a restaurant for the occasion - at a long table. This meant that we met some delightful people who were also sat on the... More

We had a wonderful evening at The Castle Inn. The food was delicious we particularly enjoyed the steak and ale pie, tender, beautiful and the vegetables were crisp. The cheesecake made by Pete for dessert was outstanding, the best cheesecake I've ever had. I would highly recommend this pub for a warm, hospitable and tasty meal. The landlord was humorous,... A really nice, small pub with Christmas lights all around the place. The food came quick, with a nice average meal. The staff were really nice and cooperated fully. I would definitely recommend.
