Called in for cream tea after visiting Shaldon Zoo. What a brilliantly friendly welcome. "Yummy scones" says my 9yo daughter!

We thought we'd give this place a try for lunch on holiday as it looked interesting and was a cheaper alternative to the main ODE restaurant in Shaldon. We all had burgers, which were very tasty with lovely chips. Probably a bit over-priced, and the wait was quite a bit longer than the ten minutes advertised on the board at... More

We had walked today so no car charging but we came here because of their sustainable ethos (where else have you been that trumpets their energy supplier-Ecotricity ) but we're pleased to have done so given the quality of the tea and the scones. Would gave been even better if they had arrived at the same time. Feedback to that... More

The short haired lady that acts like she owns ODE is rude lefty....yet she fails to realise her earth saving food approach is massively floored as 80 percent of her business comes from the earth munching car park not more than 6 feet away. And the only reason people eat at ODE is because Shaldon has limited choice......the food is... More

It's above the car park so a bit of a walk but the view up there is great. We had a pulled pork burger and fish and chips which were both excpensive but worth it.

My husband and I decided to visit to have a quick bite of lunch. Superb views on a lovely sunny day. We sat outside and are beautifully prepared burgers. I know a burger is a burger, but these were something else. The whole ethos of sustainability and locally sourced food shone through. Lunch was great.

Reasonably priced for what is very nice food, cooked and served with passion. Excellent for us as vegetarians with a young daughter. Highly recommended.

Welcoming cafe. Attractive concept (quality, sustainable produce) Good location and view. So why 3 stars? Mainly, i guess, because i was a little disappointed, having read the reviews on here. Our party had 3 different meals; none were terrible, but neither were they wonderful. The menu is presented confusingly, with too much attempt to make the individual ingredients sound enticing.... What's happening here is such a shame. I always return hoping for things to have improved to their initial standards but I find that each time I am more and more disappointed. It is undeniably expensive, but paying for good food is no problem at all! However you can order a burger here one day and recieve a beautiful meal,... More

Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and most food was homemade. We had excellent food and the staff were - without exception - helpful and friendly. If this place deserves five stars for one single aspect it is that they actually WELCOME people [not necessarily customers] to use their toilets! They brew their own beer [lovely] and they seem...
