A wonderful place to stay as a base for exploring and walking. Zaina the host is SO welcoming, always ready to chuckle and help out. Loved hearing her singing in the kitchen while she was making us the best breakfast - came down to warm croissants in a basket on the table, and carried on from there. The twin room we had was spotless, crisp white bedlinen and comfy beds, with a view looking out over the hills behind the village. The rooms are over the top of the ground floor tearooms, and we were able to come and go as we pleased, and could use the dining room if we wanted to bring back evening takeaway. We were perfectly placed for the village pubs, fish and chip shop, museum, shop and walks straight on to the coastal path (where we stood on the cliffs watching seals). We left wishing we could have stayed longer - that says it all, really!

Walked into Morthoe from the coastal path & came across this lovely little cafe so stopped for a spot of lunch and sat outside in the garden. Ordered an egg mayonnaise and a ploughman’s sandwich and both were delicious served with a few crisps on the side. Lovely bread and lots of filling and a treat for our dog Elsa too. Staff were all lovely & service was quick. Thankyou, would definitely recommend.

A lovely spot in this small village just opposite the church, we stopped in for a cake and a coffee and there was a very tempting sounding selection to choose from, although unusually it was from a menu rather than being on display on the counter. A Victoria Sponge was a very generous portion and very well made. If I were being critical I’d say I prefer butter cream to fresh cream, but that is of course just personal preference. Across the table, the Lemon & Cream Sponge was also very good and another generous portion with the lemon flavour running right through the sponge and a lovely glaze on top. The only downside was a few wasps buzzing around the garden, but other than that, highly recommended.

Ideal for a tea break having walked the beautiful coastal path but mixed review on the food. You have to go around the back and order then are allocated a table, however people just grabbed a table first and then went to order so system did not work. Why not number tables and let people get their own table. Some people walked off after having got settled and then be told to vacate the table. The lemon cake was superb and would highly recomend. But the cream tea was poor, one dry small scone , a very small portion of cream, a pot of tea but no separate hot water, and not worth the price. So try the delicious cakes but avoid the cream tea

We walked the costal path, which is so beautiful and saw seals basking in the sun . We entered Mort hoe and saw the most picturesque setting an old quintessential English village. We ordered cream teas and sat in the front garden which over looks the beautiful church. The staff were happy cheerful and fun, the home made scones were a delight, along with the cream and strawberry jam The tea came in old fashioned pots and could be taken at your favourite strength. We visited twice as it was so good and a well deserved break after our walk. Would highly recommend this business

Beautiful B&B, we had rooms 5&6, private access with a twin and king and a shared bathroom, perfect for a family trip, really nicely decorated with tea, coffee provided, tv in both rooms, comfy beds, Wi-Fi, local soaps etc… Breakfast was great, even the carnivore kids didn’t mind the veggie breakfast and it was all cooked beautifully. The staff and owners are lovely, friendly and helpful and we also had a fab cream tea during our stay. Highly recommend!

The menu isn’t large but the slices of delicious cakes are! We wanted a sandwich but they weren’t on the menu, so we ordered a cheese, onion & tomato relish toastie, which came with slaw, a small, but nice, salad and crisps. It came very quickly, served by a nice & friendly waitress, & it tasted very good. We also had tea for two & a slice of lemon cream sponge. You can see the quality of the bake even before you taste it. If you plan to visit be aware that they stop making food after 2pm & then only sell drinks & cake, but it’s worth a journey.

After enjoying many lunches at Town Farmhouse, we had the absolute pleasure of staying there. The house is absolutely beautiful & the rooms are all decorated tastefully with lovely comfortable beds, excellent amenities including a little jar of biscuits for our 4 legged friends which went down a treat with our 2 French Bulldogs. Zaina & Matt are a great team, they made us so welcome & nothing was a problem. We felt we arrived as guests but left as friends. The breakfasts were delicious with a good selection of choices, all organic & only the best ingredients. You really could taste the difference & we will definitely be buying some of the porridge & organic eggs at home! We cannot recommend this B&B enough, an absolute gem. We have already booked again! Thank you once again Zaina & Matt.

Zaina and Matt have created something special here in Mortehoe - vegan breakfast was delicious, vegan chocolate cake in the afternoon was out of this world....and I can't stop raving about the hot chocolate! Perfect after a day of body boarding (so easily accessed at the bottom of the hill in Woolacombe bay). The rooms were spotless, inviting and totally comfortable - beautiful white bedding, with lovely touches such as fresh flowers, handmade soaps and local artwork. The church opposite has bells which ring throughout the night (totally didn't bother me - lovely thick walls, but thought it worth mentioning for lighter sleepers) ...that said, the location couldn't be better... a walk in literally EVERY direction outside the front door, with breathtaking views across Woollacombe bay within 5mins. We are already booked again! Thank you team Town Farmhouse! Stars, all of you x

Fantastic Cafe - we were a larger family group & were provided with space together in the barn room at the rear. Excellent vegan options, happy to adapt sandwiches for children, welcomed our puppy. Lovely friendly staff & the rocky road & brownies were fab! Highly recommend.😊

Found this place by chance and it`s a little gem. In the centre of a very pretty village this tea shop had an attractive garden with helpful and friendly staff. We each had scones and cream and they were so delicious we had second helpings. The gluten free scones were really tasty (as sometimes GF stuff tastes like cardboard) and we got generous helpings of jam and cream. A real treat, thanks.

Popped in for a quick lunch break whilst on costal path walk. Most welcoming reception, friendly atmosphere and very enjoyable cheesy toastie and cheese scone (advertised as singular but served with 2!); both services with delicious relishes and the toastie with salad, homemade coleslaw and crisps. Just what we wanted. They do have homemade cakes too but we resisted the temptation to see if they tasted as good as they looked but judging by appreciative comments of other customers they do!

I nearly jumped for joy when I spotted a vegan cream tea on the menu! They had plenty of vegan options on the menu, which is a wonderful surprise at a small tea room in a small village! The girl told me the owner was vegan so it's a fantastic spot for a vegan lunch. They also cater for non vegans so it's a great place for everyone.

Stopped off on our way back to the car after a day at the beach. Was about 25 minutes before closing but service was still amazing - we weren’t rushed or made to feel an inconvenience at all. We were offered glasses of water as soon as we arrived as they knew we had just walked up the hill! I had the last cream tea available (thank goodness!) and we also ordered a plain scone with butter and a millionaire shortbread. Well the shortbread was the biggest I’ve ever seen! And the cream tea was delicious. Really good quality. Super friendly service and so cheap! Compared to places in town which charge double the amount for a cream tea. I’d come back here again any day.
