I would certainly recommend this place. It has a nice relaxed ambience. The owners and bar staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent at very reasonable prices. My wife and I are Vegetarian and had the Veggie Chilli most evenings and on Sundays we had veggie nut roast with fresh vegetables all very nicely cooked and presented. Our... More

Stayed for a few nights with friends, to do some walking on the Quantocks. Had a friendly welcome from the proprietor, and although the building is very old, the room was comfortable and clean. Staff were all friendly, and the food was excellent. So good in fact that I thought a photo. may be helpful! Would stay again to explore... More

Can you go wrong with a cheese salad? They can here. Lacklustre portions served with big wedges of cheese more suited to a ploughmans - odd. Would have complained but I was a guest of a friend, she said her food was ok. We ate elsewhere for our next night so something about the place also didn't sit right? Barman... More

Thank you for your review, it is a pity nothing was mentioned at the time. Most diners congratulate us on the generous portions, freshness and variety of ingredients at a very competitive price. Our barmen are generally family members and extremely friendly! More

Stayed for a night and thoroughly enjoyed it, room was clean tidy and well equipped, huge bath as well! Are downstairs and the food was of suitable portions to match the effort of running on Exmoor. Staff very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was freshly made to order and was equally good. Added bonus is the lack... More

We stayed at a cottage next door to the Staghunters last week. It is in a lovely spot alongside a river with a good walking path to Watersmeet. A warm welcome here from staff and other customers, it is a friendly place and it serves a good range of beer and cider, all well kept. Dog friendly too. Sunday lunch... More

Friendly and hospitable pub. Nothing too much trouble, staff warm and welcoming, with excellent local knowledge. Lunch of sandwiches and chips complemented with varied and tasty side salad. Excellent value for money. . Husband said beer was good and would to return in the summer to sit in the beer garden by the river and watch the wildlife.
