Do not be put off by faded mock Tudor decor. If you love beautifully cooked , fresh and generous portions of food at a reasonable price you have come to the right place. The best fish pie I have ever had in a pub ( lots of fish and prawns) and delicious liver and bacon and mash with lots of... More

Four of us for evening meal, seated as far away in the corner , loads of tables empty , but hey ho, food was ok , desert I had which I thought was creme brûlée, hmmm tinned custard I'd say plus it was stone cold. Head waiter I presume was happy chap could not fault him, waitresses could do with... More

We both had the lamp with mash and a large serving of vegetables, when I said I wanted a fruit cider the landlord (I think) said would I like to try a local cider which I did and ordered a pint of it ,never... Dropped in on the off chance as we were staying in the area. Barmaid was very welcoming and gave us the option to eat in the bar or the restaurant. We chose the bar and weren't disappointed! We both had steak and ale pie from the specials board. Huge portion, well cooked and tasty food. Followed up with Eton Mess and... More

Had a trip to Dartmouth for a day out and on the way back called in to here. It was a good move with good food and beer and was well worth a visit, if your are in the area. ☺☺

Nice food, well priced and a nice atmosphere. It was a busy night so we ate in the bar. I had a rump steak which was cooked to perfection, my husband had a seafood platter which was so good we're taking our family again later this week. Well worth a visit.

Good honest food and great atmosphere. This is a traditional local pub and nothing like a pub chain. If you are on holiday in the area this is well worth a try.

The beer ( Tribute ) was in excellent condition. The food was very good but best of all was the delightful lady on the bar. Her name may have been Tania but not 100% sure. What a treasure it was to be served in such a pleasant manner.
