Called in, famished, after a freezing firework display. Found a very clean and presentable-looking establishment, friendly service, and food cooked fresh to order. Chips that haven't been hanging around are always best - and these didn't disappoint. My cod was OK, but the tartare sauce in a tiny, soggy cardboard pot, provided gratis, was probably best consigned to the bin,... More

Eaten from here a couple of times and not been impressed with quality or price. the fish was over cooked and the batter burnt and over crispy. Ate half my expensive dinner and felt sick due to the old oil that had tainted the food. Mushy peas like a thick, dry paste and the chips are crispy and a bit... More

Really well cooked tasty fish...friendly welcoming staff...love the place! The kids even commented that it was the best fish they'd ever had and would have been happy to visit daily!

The portion sizes are tiny, and the prices over inflated. It wouldn't be so bad if the quality compensated for this, but it doesn't. Most of the handful of chips that came in my 'large' portion were refried into crisps. Avoid unless they improve.

Worst fish I have ever had. Clearly a frozen piece of tail end as it curled like a shrimp, was rubbery in texture and utterly tastless. On calling them I was assured it was the minimum 6oz weight and fresh cod. Absolutely awful, I shall be letting the federation of fish fryers know as they are destroying the reputation of... More

Very disappointing fish and chips. Have visited here many times over the past few years but the quality has gone down hill dramatically. The chips were ok but the fish was very dry and shrivelled and tge tartar sauce awful.

Staying in the area for our holidays and fancied fish and chips, what we got was 4 tiny (gold?) Fish and a family (of borrowers?) Chips! The fish was overcooked and although the chips were nice, we could have eaten more. As a family of Two adults and 2 teenagers, we had to fill up with bread or we would... More

Very friendly, helpful staff providing an excellent service. Lovely chips and lots of them. I had haddock which was the best I've tasted in a long time. Great batter on all of the fish we had (haddock and cod). They had run out of cod bite so gave a piece of cod which was far from small. We sat inside which... More
