This is a lovely olde worldly pub that welcomes families, and dogs too if you have one! Whilst there isn't a dedicated children's menu, they do half any meal from the main menu and charge half price. My family of six dined here twice during our week long holiday, and we were all happy customers on both occasions. The food... More

We ate and drank in this pub lots of times last year and decided to revisit. The pub has had a small face lift - more on the outside than inside - but the main difference is the hike in prices. It cost £3.70 a pint, which was the most expensive pint we bought in our entire stay in Brixham.... More

I would hardly call £122000.00 a small face lift! The interior and exterior have been fully refurbished. Maybe you noticed the new bar and toilets? Probably not. I am also confused with your £3.70 comment! We do not sell any drinks at £3.70 so please, before making comments, get your facts right, it would really be appreciated. Kindest regards, The... More

A great pub.......called in there most days on holiday. A great place lively & friendly. The landlord has a lovely dog who has a masive fan club. Didnt dine there but the live music was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our visits.

I'm so sorry that you feel that our menu changes regularly using, fresh, seasonal ingredients, some of which is from our own farm, where we can monitor the quality. I respect your view that the children may not have liked what we had on the menu, but we will not negotiate on the quality of our food and not offer... More

We visited this pub intending to have a meal. Upon entering we had to step over three dogs that were lying on the floor in the bar area which you have to go through to reach the restaurant area. We were then met with three more dogs in the restaurant, one of which was being fed food from its owner's... More

I'm so sorry that you felt our dog friendly policy does not suit you. We clearly advertise that we are a dog friendly pub. We do however have a dog free area. Sorry once again More

Nice traditional pub, one can imagine the history! Unfortunately your expected to imagine cleanliness, imagine a good menu, imagine customer service. We strolled in on a Tuesday tea time, every single place we passed on the way was packed with some queuing outside to get seated. Once you got to the bar passed the pungent locals making no effort to... More

I have to disagree with your review and I make no apology for it. My staff are always welcoming and helpful! To call the 'locals' repugnant I find insulting on their behalf. They could not be more welcoming if they tried. They are a wonderful group of people that I have always seen make people welcome, give advice on local... More

I have been to this pub a few times in the past and always enjoyed the hospitality and friendly staff, and the food was decent too. In July i went and have to say it was dreadful. The staff were not particularly friendly, and the food was dire. I had the pie for dinner and it was so runny i... More

We did want to eat here when in Brixham on a Tuesday evening recently; however although all of the notice boards, menus etc. stated that food was served up to 9pm every evening. we were told at 7pm by a surly barman that the kitchen was closed. We even tried to double check a few minutes later as we observed... More

I'm am concerned with your review! Can you describe the member of staff to me please? I am not happy that you were refused food when we offer and advertise Tuesday to Sunday. I am also confused why you gave us a rating of 3 for food that you didn't have! I do sincerely appologise for your disappointment. Kindest regards,... More
