Beautiful room and view of the tidal change on the beach. Delicious food. Excellent Ramen and Quinoa vegetarian dinners. Soup and salad were perfect. Lovely staff. Service excellent.

The food was good but unfortunately the service was poor. The restaurant was only half full and there were more than enough service staff loitering around, so not sure why i had to keep on asking for service. I doubt i will go back again...even though the location is world class.More
Oh dear, we’ve been coming here for years, however things have dramatically changed. Gone are the days when you could enjoy a nice walk followed by an impromptu lunch at the Imp. Arrived at 1.20pm, empty tables observed, however I was informed that they “don’t...do walk-ins”, which seems strange given their location with many cyclists, walkers and beach users in the area whom are likely to want to eat/drink. I was then informed that I could not make a reservation as they had met there 90 person “cap” for the day??? Having worked in hospitality, I am surprised that they are limiting their business in such a way. If anyone is in this area, I would recommend avoiding the Imp and walking a short distance at the end of the parking area and use the kiosk where they make fresh sandwiches/rolls to order, offer a sheltered space to eat, friendly staff and good value.More
We made a last minute booking- great offer on the staycation package- £100 for bed and breakfast which also included £30 each person towards our dinner!!! Reception staff were lovely and helpful, Lovely touch with a complimentary bottle of prosecco and decorated plate for our...anniversary! Dinner was really tasty, quiet with only 3 tables - staff were very attentive. Plenty of choice for breakfast which were large portions! Room was clean and spacious with a balcony overlooking the beach, lovely with a coffee in the morning sunshine! Bathroom a little dated with low pressure shower but was adequate, A great deal for our stay- maybe the offers could be advertised a little more? Will def be returning and would recommend to all!More
Just tried the tapas menu for the first time, very impressed with the food and excellent value. Great choice of wines offered with it, we really enjoyed the red Prus Dao wine. If you want to have a drink and not worry about driving there's...plenty of buses, c'mon Imp you should do more to publicise that😉More
Popped in for an impromptu lunch The Mussels starter with chillies were exactly that quite warming. Plaice main was super, will definitely be back when we return
Very good food here but can get busy so found it best to book to make sure of a table. Fresh fish, seabass & mackerel, were particular favourites
Beautiful panoramic beach / sea views, friendly relaxed ambience with great vegetarian, fish and meat options. On bus route from town / west coast. Very popular so booking recommended. Indoor and outdoor seating.
A mixed cuisine menu with local and other dishes. Service was professionally given by a young staff. Food is cooked to order and delivered in an appropriate time. Fish dishes were superb - especially the moules and the crab.
Booked for 1230pm, waited ages for them to take our order only to be still waiting for it at 130pm. Only 1 drink order taken only for the waiter that took it telling us to hurry up as he has other drinks to make. Terrible...attitude. Food had not arrived by 130pm with me having to return to work with not have any lunch.More
We ate here for lunch recently. A lovely blistering day and child free (which doesn't happen very often!) so we were really looking forward to it. My husband had the half lobster salad which was average at best. I had the asian chicken burger. It...was 2 tiny weeny bits of chicken which didn't even fill the bun and therefore I could barely taste it. The accompanying chips were soggy. I did raise with the waitress how disappointing the chicken burger had been but nothing was offered off the bill. Unfortunately this is the second time that we have had a bad meal here in recent months. I went with my parents in July and we were waiting almost 1 hour for food. I had the halloumi and fig salad as a main but again, there was barely anything to it bar salad leaves and it was hugely disappointing. It is such a shame as the Imperial has such a lovely setting and the recently refurbished outside decking area is lovely but the food really does let it down and I can't see us returning sadly.More
This was my second visit here and I thought maybe the first time I was just unlucky (that was in 2019). However this confirmed to me that the food here is below average. The service is nice but very slow. The only thing I enjoyed...was the coffee, everything else tasted like it had been purchased from a cheap supermarket and served up. My main meal was £12 and honestly it looked like max £4, something you'd expect at a takeaway stand.More
Booked a table outside on the patio terrace to take in the views over Rocquaine Bay but also to enjoy the sunshine. Staff friendly and quick to take a drinks order plus come back to take food order too. We went for the steak pie...& chips, fish (huge) & chips and the prawn/crab/lobster open sandwich. Pastry on the pie was perhaps a little undercooked but all the meals were good and well presented. Had the coconut and lime cheesecake for desert which was superb. A Rocquettes cider or too as well. All in all a nice lunch.More
Visited here a couple of times in 2019. Loved the refurb at the time Still lovely views and staff but the food is pretty rough, Very bland chicken and fish This place could be so good if they got a good chef; its in a...prime positionMore
Very slow service, took an hour for our order to arrive, the kids were getting very hungry but the staff were thoroughly avoiding eye contact. Just wanted to ask for bread but even that was difficult. Did not hesitate to bring us a bottle of...wine straight away, thoughMore
