We stopped in this pub after our visit to Hauteville House, home of Victor Hugo where we had scampi and chips and chicken curry, both excellent choices. The service was friendly and prompt. This restaurant is off the beaten path but worth seeking out.

When I was taught to cook, presentation was also an integral part of the process & that an odd number of food items on a plate was far more attractive than an even number. Popped in for a lunchtime bite. My partner had scampi, chips & salad, (£9.95), which she enjoyed but it was nothing above the average 'pub grub',... More

I am visiting Guernsey mainly on business and knew of this small friendly pub but had not yet visited - it did not disappoint at friendly chatty staff and 5 good beers including 3 local Whiterock brews on hand pumps + a good selection for lager types and local cider - food menu is good value and good choice not... Very popular and busy pub in the centre of St. Peter port. Food is straightforward, plentiful and reasonable value. Wash it down with some real ale or decent lager.

This is a great CAMRA Pub serving good food and Ales. There was a vibrant atmosphere. It is close to the Town main shopping area. Recommended.

Stopped after our tour with Annette Henry and had a wonky donkey beer and lunch. Old time pub atmosphere. Loved that they served half portions. Half order of fish and chips was definitely big enough. 3 pieces of fish, fat chips, lemony tartar , fresh peas and salad with beet tops This pub is a bit up the hill from... More

We went for any early-ish dinner on a Thursday evening. Welcomed at the bar and shown to a table. There was a good selection of specials on the blackboard, in addition to regular choices from the menu. The service was friendly and efficient, the food and the beer (Wonky Donkey) very good. For a relaxed pub meal, would be hard... More

I visited the cornerstone today for an impromptu lunch with a colleague. Not only did we enjoy our meal, we both highly praised the variety and depth of food and drink options and on the excellent and diligent services levels. I look forward to my next 'business meeting' to savour the rest of the menu. Highly recommended for choice, service... More

Simply the most amazing beers ever from the White Rock Brewery, Barefoot is fantastic. Also had a pub meal which was of very high quality and very reasonable price.. One of Guernseys Gems, a must for any visitor. Staff polite, well organised and efficient. Plenty of choice and welcoming locals.

Superlatives rarely work in restaurant reviews but I'm really confident in saying that the pub staple of fish & chips as served up here cannot be bettered anywhere, anytime. The batter is so light it's almost non existent, the fish tastes like it might have come off the dock minutes before, the chips so hot & crisp they don't need... More
