You cannot beat Pier 17 for the best seafood on Guernsey. Service is excellent and it may be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for with a unique view as well. Never been let down by Seamus and his team. Pier 17 is our favourite place to eat on the island and it is always a special experience.

Fabulous service and wonderful food, we were a wedding party of 10 and had a memorable lunch. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, we were made to feel very welcome throughout the afternoon, even though we were the last ones in the restaurant and didn’t leave until about 5.30pm. No pre-order was required, food was excellent, can recommend the fillet steak and half lobster.

Celebrated my friends birthday at Pier 17. From entering the restaurant to leaving ... the service was warm and welcoming and with Seamus on duty it was even more pleasant. The dinner choices were excellent and we all opted for fish dishes which did not disappoint. Fresh, hot and tasty with great accompaniments. Seamus even personally delivered a birthday cake lit with candles and sang Happy Birthday 😆

Completely underwhelmed by lunch today - the crab cakes were mainly filler with bottled sauce, the cod was undercooked (raw, soggy batter clinging to tasteless fish) but chips were good. and the tiramisu looked and tasted like it had been bought in with no hint of coffee or brandy. Staff were pleasant enough and we had a decent bottle of wine at a reasonable price but I will not be returning - eating out should be more special than this for those prices. Shame as the location is great.

We had an excellent meal at Pier 17 last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I would encourage Guernsey locals to get out there and support our wonderful local restaurants and especially Seamus and Pier 17. I had scallops followed by Fierce and Fiery - perfection My wife had crab cakes followed by Fish & Chips - delicious. She has Fish and Chips wherever we go and these were the very best she has ever had. Service was excellent and it was lovely to chat to Seamus. Views were stunning and then a lovely walk afterwards down to the castle and around town which was very relaxing. We have decided to start making more regular visits and also to eat out more to do our very small bit to support local restaurants.

Picked this restaurant via trip advisor- excellent choice. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, the service was exceptional and the food was brilliant! I cannot find a bad word to say about this evening’s trip out. The starters were divine and my husband’s ‘ fierce and fiery’ beef was cooked to perfection. We would thoroughly recommend Pier 17 to anyone travelling to Guernsey

Very disappointing meal but I might have just chosen badly. I started with a plate of smoked salmon, prawns and Guernsey crab with the crab being the highlight of the dinner, the salmon was nice but the prawn was hard and tasteless. The battered fish and chips was not good, the fish was small, the batter thick and the chips served a dente, the homemade tarter sauce was bland. Finished with a cheese plate that could have come from Tescos, no interesting cheeses, nothing local, simply no effort. My friend had scallops that he said were the best he had ever tasted so as I say I might have just ordered badly. The service and position of the restaurant were very good … just underwhelming food. I wouldn’t go back

The food here is superb, as is the service. When we arrived it was relatively quiet but by the time we had finished our starters, the restaurant was almost full and had a nice atmosphere. The prices reflect the setting and the quality of the food but it was well worth it.

We recently had dinner at Pier 17 and were blown away. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the outside but once inside the restaurant feels comfortable and top end. We were very well looked after by the bar staff on arrival and offered a seat at the bar and a wine list. I was looking forward to ordering lobster and was let down by the waiter who informed us that they’d run out. Not to be deterred, a friend had recommended the scallop dish so I went for that instead. So pleased I did, they were delicious, pan fried with chilli and lime and perfectly seasoned. My partner had the sea bass and she was really pleased with that. We both had desserts which were good and there was a good selection of wines by the glass. Pier 17 isn’t the cheapest place to eat, but by Guernsey’s high standards, this place is up there with the best.

Visited with friends and enjoyed scallops and lobster washed down a few bottles of very good Spanish Albariño wine. Everything was excellent. My only minor criticism is to serve a fork for desert and not just a spoon, which means eating off a plate requires a discrete push of the finger at times to get food onto the spoon. Also serving butter as an option for those who don;t like pesto with their bread would have been nice.

This restaurant never disappoints both in food and service. If you like seafood then you can go to no other venue and get better. It’s an empty plate restaurant because if you like good food then that’s all that’s left. Lol It does do other dishes as well but believe me if you like seafood cooked and presented to it’s finest then I can think of no better “ place “ ( pardon the pun ) lol to go. The location is great as well very good for both casual meals and romantic dinners later on. The service is quick informal and very friendly. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. We are very lucky in Guernsey that we do have so many great restaurants but this is one of the best. It ticks all the boxes. In these very strange times we will not be able to go outside the island for a little while but with venues like this I think we are very lucky.

Lovely to be back here again. Great evening. Warm welcome from Seamus, delightful harbour views, and excellent service throughout. My goats cheese needed a bit longer in the pan to soften and warm, but the Lobster Thermidor (without the cheddar) was so tender and light, and delicious, I’ll have it every time! The crab and scallop Thermidor was a winner too. The chateaubriand served rare looked and tasted wonderful. Why 4 stars not 5? Sometimes what arrives isn’t quite what is expected. In this case the bisque was described as thin, and the scallops lacking in chilli.

Lovely outside ‘bar’. We were asked multiple times the name the booking was in and how many of us. Lovely HF bread for me. However the service was poor. Only 6 of the 7 mains were bought out. The staff did another head count and then told the person missing their main they would need to wait. When the bill came one bottle out of the 3 of wine was charged differently. When questioned the staff had bought us the wrong wine, much more expensive. The girls said it was the restaurants fault and the server then said she would have to pay for it out of her own wages. We paid the amount on the bill and didn’t pay the service charge. However the food and staff were fantastic.

Dear Jennifer, thank you for your much appreciated feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience caused during your visit, this is has been addressed to our team in order to achieve a better quality service next time you come in. The team member that did serve you on that day did not know how to express correctly her emotions leading to this misunderstanding, all she wanted to do was to cover the difference which I can guarantee you we as a long established business we never asked from any of our employees. We hope you all give us the opportunity to welcome you again with a much better experience, once again our apologies for the confusion and lack of communication. Sincerely, Pier 17 Management

We had midweek lunch here and the place was nearly full. It’s perched at the end of one of the many harbour piers and on arrival the outside seemed a bit run-down. Inside was quite quirky and a bit like being in a portable building. Never to judge a book by its cover we tucked in to a sumptuous lunch of some of Guernsey’s finest fish! Delicately prepared and presented it was one of the best fish lunches I’ve had for a long time! We adored it. The service was super relaxed, gorgeous wine list and super aperitifs. Thank you so much!

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights in Guernsey and fully availed of the excellent range of good eateries available. However Pier 17 absolutely stands out as the best dining experience we had. The food, the atmosphere, the staff and excellent host Seamus Duggan were all great and Seamus and I even enjoyed discussing the merits of his Champ vs my mother's! If you're in St Peter Port, go!!
