The fresh crab salad is excellent, although at £19.50 is a tad expensive! £1.95 for a small bottle of water. Would I go back to this place again? Yes, but it would only be for a special occasion as pricing does become prohibitive after a while. It is obvious that this place caters for the one off tourist visitor, who is unlikely to come back to the island again.

We had visited Fermain Bay earlier during our week and just had a coffee but the place seemed so nice, we came back for lunch. We walked to Fermain Bay from Jerbourg on a lovely day along the coastal path. The location is just lovely, right at the top of the beach so the view is perfect and quite the sun trap. Plenty of seating outside and in, plus clean toilets. Home made cakes looked amazing but couldn't manage one after a steak ciabatta and large glass of wine. Portion size was more than adequate, but, as others jave said, a bit pricey. However, given the location, facilities and lovely home cooked food, we thought it was good value. We read locally about the challenges the business currently faces from their landlord and I do hope things work out. The cafe has obviously become very popular and good at what they do over 20+ years and they deserve to be able to continue in those premises.

A wonderful location overlooking a small bay at the foot of a steep valley. Can be reached by bus (to St Martins) or along the coastal path. Views of and access to the beach ( part stony) and of Herm.
Freshly prepared deli type food with good coffee, wines and puddings. Well known to locals particularly for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea and ice creams. Relax in a quiet haven while the rest of the world goes by.
You must be prepared for a steep climb home or use a taxi.

This cafe is situated in a good position if walking the cliff path either from or to St Peter Port.
On this visit we had walked to the cafe via the roads but returned via the cliff path.
As a half way stop you can refresh with drinks or if feeling hungry food.
We only had drinks on this occasion but it was fairly busy with others eating.
A nice position if sunny looking out to sea.

We hiked over an hour to get to the cafe, waited over half an hour in the queue only to be told at the hatch they would not serve anything other than sandwiches. As one of our party couldn’t eat bread we had to leave without anything.
Totally unacceptable and very poor customer service at the hatch.

We bought coffee at 10.40 and were told we had to wait until 11.00 to order any hot food. It is a beautiful location and we had walked for an hour to get there so we had the coffee and waited to order.
We ordered a bacon ciabatta for the person I was with. I am a vegetarian and asked if perhaps they would be kind enough to do me a ciabatta with avocado and tomato. The man serving told me he was not that kind. I thought he was joking at first but then realised he wasn’t.
The menu showed avocado salad and ciabatta as a separate item. I explained that I do not eat meat. He told me I could have the salad but they are not ‘set up’ - to put the avocado and tomato in a ciabatta. I would have happily paid the £8.50 equivalent of the bacon ciabatta but had to settle for a £1.50 empty ciabatta instead.
The menu choice for anyone not eating meat or fish was very limited and with the lack of flexibility I would be unlikely to return. I think I’d bring my own and eat it on the beach next time.

At £15 a sandwich, I’d have hoped they would be prepared to put a non cheese or fish dish together from other foods on the menu for someone unable to eat them. Apparently, “only what is on the menu” can be ordered. All I could order was a bowl of cheap-tasting processed chips, which were over priced and not at all good. A very disappointing experience.

Wasn’t expecting a crab sandwich to cost near on £20! This cafe is in a great spot just above the beach and can only be reached by boat or by walking. You can drive down but need to get permission first. The whole family visited half by boat and half by car. We would have had a full lunch but the prices meant we didn’t even consider it and stuck to just drinks. Shame really. Looking at the pictures of previous menus it seems for August when we visited last week they had been increased significantly.

What a fantastic find. Food was fabulous (crab sandwich & crab salad) and the service was superb. So friendly and helpful. Their service surpassed anything we could possibly hope for after the owner gave us a lift back to our hotel after my husband was worried about the steps back, and a taxi wasn’t available.
We visited whilst on holiday after we saw on the local news that their lease has been taken away (after 21 years!) after being put up for tender. But the staff still carried on with huge smiles and courtesy.
They certainly will be a huge loss to the locals and holiday makers alike, as well as the local area.

My friend and I had lunch here when touring the island. What a delicious meal - delicious. fresh and ample crab salad , exceeding London standards - in full sight of rolling, white flecked waves. A congenial owner and comfortable, picturesque surroundings rendered this the ideal place for a meal. Would definitely return . No grumbles at all. Plenty of parking available.

Stopped here on our walk along the coastal path and really pleased we did. We’ve been before in years past and it’s been a little underwhelming, but this visit was particularly good.
A good selection of cakes, including several gluten free options. We went for the baked gooseberry cheesecake and the baked gooseberry and plum crumble. They were delicious and both gluten free (and you wouldn’t know there was any difference). Also had a blueberry muffin which was good, but a bit of a shame that it was packaged and not freshly made.
Beautiful views of the bay, plenty of seating and good clean toilets. There’s also a water refill station.
We’ll definitely be back.

I had the most life changing experience with a Banoffee Pie at this cafe today. It was homemade by the business owner and she even gave us a peek at the strawberry cheesecake which looked amazing and which I’ll be coming back for. This cafe is one of the best cafe experiences you can get in Guernsey 😍

This used to be a wonderful spot - great views and lovely food. The views remain but the food has become overpriced and mediocre. There are much better restaurants and much better beach cafes elsewhere. Such a shame.

On a long, cliff path walk, we stumbled across this pleasant cafe above Fermain Bay.
We only ordered a tasty coffee, but the food choices looked interesting, if a little expensive.
Such lovely views from the outside tables too.
A couple arrived with two noisy dogs which spoilt the ambience a little, but they soon left!
