The Cock and bull is my local. I visit multiple times a week usually for a few hours My last visit was 10/11/22. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful but when busy can be a bit slow at times as with all pubs. At the moment thay have a happy hour "1600-1900 hours Monday to Thursday I think". there are three hand pumps for real ale that change fairly regularly. one of the few pubs in town with a pool table. the food is in my opinion Texs/Mexs American dinner not to my personal taste but seams popular thay also do takeout which is also popular on the plus side there is Pizza on the menu. great atmosphere, live Irish music every Thursday from local musicians, Meat draw every Friday

We were staying near to this pub restaurant and decided to venture in for something to eat after a couple of places we tried were fully booked. A traditional pub with a menu of predominantly pizza and burgers, the welcome we had was great from the server behind the bar. We had delicious pepperoni pizzas and the prices were a breath of fresh air!!! Thank you.

In my top 5 worst pubs , went there on 2 occasions and found the manager too be very rude on both occasions and i include a young lady working behind the bar ( maybe assistant manager) to be in need of a customer awareness course as well. Pub policy for taking a drink outside isn’t to advise you that your not allowed to but to snatch it out your hand without explanation and tip it on the floor, this action could be very very unpleasant for the so called door man if this was done to the wrong person. Luckily for him I wasn’t drunk and I’m a nice guy but he really needs to also be sent on a course . The menu was probably the smallest I’ve ever seen ie choice wise and when the food did arrive it was tasteless and cold . The final act of miss hospitality was to be told they’d run out of a certain beer but they sell it at the pub next door, we had made a point of going to this pub on a Tuesday night to eat and watch the football after a days work and to relax with friends but was made to feel uncomfortable . The other pubs I’ve visited in the area are very welcoming and pleasant and for this reason my advice would be to avoid this pub and go elsewhere. I never write reviews but the manager and staffs unprofessional behaviour forced me into this as my evening with friends was cut short and ruined

Popped in for a drink but the prices on the chalkboard above the bar are not what they say they are. When queried bar staff said the manager had not changed them. No excuse! What you see is what you should be charged, not more.

Called in several afternoons on the way back uphill to our hotel. Is in the right position for a stopover and a drink(Or two) As always a good choice of several beers that are served correctly. Steve is usually behind the bar but on one visit there was a very pleasant young lady who usually works evenings and was working as he and wife were away visiting. Still have open mic night and Irish nights.

@MaximusGluteus1 is wrong. The ‘12 year old with the hairstyle’ IS an expert and a true champ who pours the best cheeky vimto in town. The cock and bull is the best pub in town. JR.

Stopped here a few times during my stay in Guernsey. They serve a good range of real ales, kept in good condition. The small outdoor terrace is a great little sun trap during the lunch hours. With a friendly barmaid and plenty of seating this is a great place for a relaxing lunchtime drink. They have live entertainment during the evening session, but I never attended so cannot make any comment on this aspect of the pub.

If you come from Ringwood, and know what Ringwood Best (or Razorback as they caled it) tastes like, and the pint you are served is obviously heavily tainted with cider, then you expect the bar staff to apologise and admit maybe they haven't cleaned the pipes properly. Unfortunately the tall 12 year old with the hairstyle who served me took a sip and stated it was fine. Somehow I suspect he wasn't an expert. He changed the pint anyway. Aside from that the pub was fine. Afterwards went to the pub next door instead to enjoy an argument about Brexit.

Having tried a few pubs we decided that The Cock & Bull met our needs perfectly for a post walk pint and a packet of crisps. The beer is ok to good and the staff are friendly. Interesting music always being played (not too loud) and not TV screen dominant. Not every body’s cup of tea but we enjoyed it, well worth a visit.

Ok, we are on a cruise ship where internet minutes are precious, but I feel our experience at this pub deserves everything I’ve got. We stopped by for a drink early afternoon on our way through town and Michelle was the consummate hostess. She said it was her pub for 22 years and obviously she inherited it the day she was born. No shopkeeper could have made us feel more welcome than her. Stop by and say hello and you will know what I mean.

Having called in a couple of times on an earlier visit we thought it well worth visiting again,so we did several times. Always a good selection of beers which were different from the last visit and I was able to try three different ones that I had not tried before. All were excellent and well kept and served. Steve and Michelle are very friendly and welcoming and we enjoy talking to them and the usual regular customers found at the bar. There is a TV if interested and most nights there is something going on.

Been visiting Guernsey with work for 11 years and this is the best pub in town to chill out in an evening. Good hand-pump real ales, a wide range of musical events (especially "Irish night" every Thursday) and a very social place to be, as run by the friendly Michelle and her husband Steve.
