During lockdown we had a couple of takeaways from the restaurant and they were so good that we knew we had to visit once they reopened. We have now been several times and just adore the place. The food is just prefection (as you would expect from such a great chef) with great flavours and good use of local, fresh produce. The staff are always friendly and helpful without being stuffy or pretentious, and the restaurant is bright and laid back with a wonderful location. Pricewise, we think it is great value for money for the quality of what is on offer. Cannot fault anything and will be back soon!

We decided to each twice at Mark Jordan in three days, and this was a very positive decision on our recent visit to Jersey. The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel in the beautiful bay of St Aubin. When you arrive to the restaurant you have a choice of inside or outside dining, the setting is beautiful with sea views and boats, and on our visit a perfect view of the moon. The menu is consise, not extensive, but there is no disappointments with the menu, it boasts an array of fresh fish and meat delights that will satisfy most paletes. The executive chef has not only a great eye for detail and presentation, but the fusion and integration of flavor is superb. Every detail is catered for 'you are made to feel very important' the service is instant, no reqwuest is a problem. I enjoyed the wine list a broad selection with special vintages that match the fine menu dishes. Finally, reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment, one of my favourite dining experiences on the island, no question that I will be returning!

At this really difficult time Mark Jordan has come up with the takeaway idea, we tried this last night and it was an absolute treat. We ordered over the phone, terribly simple, there is an online takeaway menu, great value! We agreed a time, and I parked in the car park, when my meal was ready, more or less spot on for timing, they phoned me in the car. There is a table set up in the entrance and the beautifully packed food placed there, the team all had masks. I collected the food on my own with no other contact and left. On arrival at home the food was perfect,y hot (and cold as appropriate) and the flavours were as good as always. We opened a bottle of a good vintage Burgundy and this set the meal off perfectly. I really cannot recommend this too highly, no it has not the fabulous ambiance of in house dining at the restaurant, that is true. But it was a GREAT meal and hopefully shall keep one of my favourite restaurants going until life gets better!

Evening started well but deteriorated at each course. A decent Bellini and the crab on toast nibbles were the highlight. Then wine and water failed to arrive, the waiter who was also attempting to double as front of house and clearly overwhelmed forgot to place the order. When the wine did arrive it was a 2019 rather than the 2017 ordered although we didn’t realise until later. Starters were ok, clearly pre prepared and the mackerel on the dry side. Mains were a disaster. The Missus’ risotto was a soup, just totally wrong. I had the duck which was overcooked, the fat not rendered and inedible and the skin was soggy. Plus the dish had an enormous quantity of apple, it was just bizarre. Sadly they didn’t redeem themselves with dessert, the passion fruit soufflé was so overly sweet it was inedible (and I have a sweet tooth). We heard similar muttering from other tables so must have been an issue in the kitchen, but to be fair they took this off the bill. They even messed up a mint tea. To add insult to injury when the bill came they slipped on a £40 bottle of wine we hadn’t ordered. Sadly this was our last night in Jersey, until now we’ve had outstanding food wherever we’ve been whether beach cafe, gastropub or Michelin restaurant. If staying in St Aubin there are some great local restaurants and this place is not worth the walk

Expected great things here after seeing this place on James Martin, but left disappointed tbh. The place is strange - like sitting in someone’s front room. We arrived 5 mins earlier than our booked time and the table wasn’t ready so we waited in reception and looked at the menu and were told which dishes were unavailable (a pet hate of mine). One of them, the lobster, was oos. Really disappointed as this is what 2 of us were going to order. The waiter came out with some excuse about them being shut Monday so that’s why they had run out 🤷‍♀️. Starters and drinks arrived in good time, all fine so far. We ordered brill, duck, beef fillet & short rib for mains. They brought 2 brill and no duck so 3 of us had our mains whilst the chef was cooking the duck, which arrived approx 15 minutes after the rest of us! To give them credit they did knock it off the bill, but the duck was really tough when it arrived as they didn’t have the time to leave it to rest and a chunk of it was left as it was very chewy. Desserts were nice but the bill came to £250 for 4 and, for this cost, I expected better. Wouldn’t bother eating here again I’m afraid.

Had dinner there on a Sunday with my wife when holidaying in Jersey, arrived at 17:45 for our 18:00 reservation and was told rather curtly they were not open, our options were to go away or sit at the table but we won’t be serving you. We opted to go away and come back at 18:00. We were seated on the terrace which was very pleasant and the waiter then explained that some dishes were not available. I asked for a beer whilst choosing food only to find some beers were not available and hadn’t been available for some time. I don’t expect things that are advertised on the menu to be unavailable in a Michelin starred restaurant. The food, presentation and service were very good, I was disappointed to be given paper napkins, I expect them in some pubs but not a restaurant of this standing. At the end of the meal we ordered liqueur coffees, my wife, a type 1 diabetic asked for no sugar, when it arrived she could see sugar in the bottom of the glass and was told we put a cube of brown sugar in it, this really is not acceptable for obvious reasons, the coffee had to be remade.

Spent a week on jersey. This was the last meal of our week, very excited. The service was faultless , even managed to move tables as the evening progressed, and luckily got an outside table. Wonderful wine choices. And the view onto the beach and the sunset was a joy Starters were perfect, really tasty and well presented . Sadly the mains were just ok, and for the ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ expected a lot more on the plate and in flavour. Lobster was quite small and was very plain in its flavours sadly. Most expensive meal of the week. But not the best of the week.

Ambience when quiet good. Once a big party comes the ambience just disappears. Try and get a table near the window for the sea view. Wait staff fairly attentive , but once busy get forgetful. Offered more bread but never came back with any. Crab and sweet corn risotto good flavour but a tad underdone, should have sent it back instead of greedily eating it. Mistake as it resulted in indigestion. Turkey rillettes more successful. Celeriac velouté well flavoured. Chicken liver parfait nicely done. Apple tarte good. Rhubarb and custard unusually served as the custard was a crème brûlée slice. While pastry was cooked it became soggy cos of custard. Possibly better served as a crisp shard of pastry on top rather than as a base. Didn’t stay for coffee with complimentary petits fours as put off by large and noisy party that came along and were sat behind us quite close.

Wow. Decided to have a lunch out with friends in a nice restaurant during these uncertain times. We haven’t really been out much at all. Picked Mark Jordan as we know they serve outside and during lockdown they were open for collections and we used them and had a very delicious meal then. Had a lovely table overlooking the beach. A nice g & t to start, always good when you can get a Brockmans, my favourite and looked at the menu. I immediately chose dessert and then main. Decided against starters but opted for a nibbles option so we had crab toasts which were delicious. Lots of crab on a crispy thick toast perfectly seasoned. Could have eaten a large plate of those. I opted for my favourite lobster Thermidor which came with asparagus and wilted spinach and some jersey royals. Delicious I ate it all. It wasn’t huge but for me absolutely perfect. I then had a soufflé for dessert. Have had souffles here before and they are always good but this was outstanding possibly the best I’ve ever had. It was passion fruit with mango ice cream. Ice cream was lovely and smooth but the soufflé was sublime. Lovely passion fruit flavour coming through and all perfectly mixed. I could eat that again and again. Can’t recommend that enough. Well done do the chef for a fabulous lunch. Will be back

We ate here on the first night of our first holiday in many stressful months. It was a special evening that we both remember and talk about still. We enjoyed a little aperitivo, followed by a fabulous meal with a tasty bottle of wine recommended by our waitress. Fantastic setting, delicious food, excellent service.

I am enjoying this place more and more. It isn’t just the food, more about that later, but also the service which was outstanding. From the minute we arrived until we paid our bill and left, the staff couldn’t do enough. So the four of us had a bottle of Chenin Blanc which was lovely and quite good value. We started with a choice of bread. All four of us tried both breads and they were perfect melt in your mouth. Then for the starter we had either the pressing of smoked salmon or the mackerel. My salmon came with guacamole and crab mayo. It was simply stunning. Both visually and to taste. The mackerel was also very good and not as strong tasting as it can sometimes be. We then had either the Gressingham duck, half a Jersey lobster, or the fillet of salmon. I had the salmon which came on a bed of potatoes with with spinach and asparagus and a hollandaise sauce. I hoovered up the whole lot and enjoyed every last mouth full. The duck was cooked to order and was either medium rare or medium and was a little bit under cooked in both cases. The waiter recommended we had some chips with the duck and his recommendation was spot on. All in all a lovely long relaxed lunch with good friends. No pressure on us from the waiting staff at any stage. A lovely contrast to some of the places we have eaten at recently. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely meal to celebrate a family birthday The service was great - our waiter was very warm and friendly. Food was truly delicious One slight disappointment was that the sea bream was just one fillet rather than both sides and as it tasted fab it would have been nice to have to whole fish especially considering the price paid. Lobster Thermidor was perfect and the happy birthday dessert and petits fours were very much appreciated One of our favourite restaurants and we keep returning each time we visit Jersey

We had a very pleasant evening here - the food is better than average and the service very professional and slick. It markets itself as Michelin level and in some ways it is but in others it misses the mark. The bread basket was just white or brown (shouldn't it have been served warm with a selection of breads and rolls?). The lobster Thermidor was just two or three very small mouthfuls albeit tasty and it came with, of all things, boring boiled tasteless Jersey spuds and out of season asparagus. The rest was fine and the desserts delicious. For a pleasant meal for two, a not expensive bottle of wine and nothing exceptional the bill came to just over ÂŁ200 which compared with other restaurants on the island we found overpriced and unjustified.

Nice location and warm welcome on arrival. We arrived a couple of hours early expecting to have some drinks at the bar before heading to the restaurant for dinner. The bar was closed which meant that we had to go to our table immediately and were pushed to start our dinner there and then. The waitress stated that the chef would be going home before our booked time. I asked what the situation would have been if we had turned up at the time of our booking, the waitress immediately backed down but it still left a sour taste that the waitress had tried to mislead us and rush us. Don’t accept the booking if you don’t want people to eat at that time, 8.30pm! Anyway, food was a tad disappointing overall considering the chefs talent.. not bad but underwhelming.

Have eaten here several times before, pre-pandemic, and was so looking forward to it but it just didn't quite live up to expectations. The service was efficient rather than friendly, although the person who had confirmed the reservation had been very charming and gave us a great table seeing as we had booked so far in advance. Main courses were lobster thermidor - which was absolutely delicious - and duck, which we had been led to believe (by a former diner rather than the restaurant staff) was the chef's signature dish, but which we found disappointing. Two of the party had this and thought it was fine, but not to the standard that might have been expected given Mark Jordan's reputation; the spicing were not really detectable. Maybe just a poor menu choice. Still a good night out but just not quite up to the standard we had enjoyed previously.
