We have a wonderful meal here when we visited a few weeks ago. Having been regulars at the Wayside, we were delighted by the addition of favourites from there to the menu. My husband accidentally ordered me the sweet potato and pesto dish (instead of the Mozzarella and pesto) and I can honestly say, it’s the best mistake he could have made - it was absolutely delicious! It’s busy but absolutely worth the wait!!! We will be back!

We all had an excellent leisurely breakfast, with its usual magnificent view at Archrondel. We had a variety of dishes ranging from crab and avocado on sourdough, to eggs cooked in different ways, to homemade granola. The food was excellent and the service was prompt. I often swim here and the cafe is always buzzing outside. In fact it seems to be busy at all times of day, so if you want to sample the excellent fayre and service offered by the new owners, be prepared to wait for an outside table. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite places to come in Jersey. The café is right down on the beach so you’ve got a beautiful setting and can sit both inside or outside. They serve the most amazing fresh seafood with things like lobster rolls, popcorn scallops, and scallop risotto. I love the fact you can sit outside with a glass of wine and some seafood and just listen to the sea. The staff are really friendly and they are really accommodating. If you’re over on the east of the island this is an absolute must!

I go to driftwood most times I come home for the holiday and have always had a lovely time, delicious food at a reasonable price. This time however not only was the food average to sub par but the service was so bad I was shocked. My daughter and I are dairy and egg free and I have never had a problem eating out and finding something we can have. If there isn’t something we can have then the staff have always been helpful and obliging in trying to give us a delicious meal that works with the odd substitution. This was the first time I have ever been made to feel like I was being difficult. The young man behind the counter was lovely. Helpful and friendly and told me what I could order for my daughter and then his colleague butted in. She was an older woman and was unbelievable and unnecessarily rude to him and left me feeling stressed and embarrassed for asking. When I then went up to order for myself and this awful woman was taking my order she basically told me I couldn’t order anything, including a Thai curry which I found strange as I’ve never known of any Thai to contain dairy, she didn’t look me in the face at all which is just rude on a human level let alone a customer service one. I ended up having a Thai prawn salad which was some prawns on lettuce and swimming in Thai sweet chilli sauce. Too sweet, not very substantial, and generally very disappointing. I appreciate that I won’t be able to eat what I’d like at the moment but I have never been treated so rudely or made to feel so awkward. I felt absolutely awful for the poor staff who have to work with this woman and be treated so badly by her and belittled unkindly by her. Her attitude and nasty personality left a worse taste in my mouth than the pretty rubbish lunch and her colleagues and staff have my deepest sympathies.

I had breakfast here this morning, first of all they had no gluten free bread . Keeping a loaf of gluten feee bread in the freezer is easy. All you do is toast it and serve . I ordered a ham and cheese omelette and only got a cheese omelette. Everything is so expensive. And if you ask for bacon on the side you will get a no . As they will only serve what’s on the set. All these cafe’s should be trying to do there best for customers as I thought they wanted more business. I won’t be going back . Also they have a bottles on the table to collect dead wasps , I understand the idea .but I don’t want to see dead wasps while I eat .Just cover the bottle so customers can’t seeand it’s sorted .

Highly recommended by the lady who runs Wild Atlantique in St Helier we had to pay a visit on our recent trip. We got the St Catherine bus & the driver kindly shouted us at our stop.
Walking down towards the beach the views were stunning.
We had the scallops & a portion of fish goujons to share & everything was fresh & delicious.
Lovely clean cafe and such beautiful views. Topped with friendly helpful smiling staff - thank goodness we visited :)

Such a lovely spot for breakfast, even on a brisk March morning. We chose to sit outside - thanks to the cosy rugs provided - so we could enjoy the view of the pretty beach with dog walkers and hardy swimmers. The friendly staff even brought us hand warmers which was a thoughtful gesture, we felt very looked after. The vegetarian and meat breakfasts were great, with well cooked ingredients and tasty sour dough toast. The cafe is dog friendly, with well-behaved dogs allowed inside. The terrace is a summer sun trap, but worth a visit out of season too.
Please note the egg was requested to be well done, so was perfect for me!

Last year we ate their scallop risotto at least 4 times and it was truly brilliant. We took family and friends to eat it and everyone rated it 10/10! We were therefore glad to go back last week and ordered the same dish, it was OK but not a patch on last year's and perhaps 7/10, it had most of the ingredients but no mussels on top or colour. I attach a photo of last year's risotto in the hope that you can bring back the 2023 recipe that we loved.

We paid ÂŁ16 for a crab sandwich and I am annoyed with myself for not complaining at the time. Where was the crab? There was brown bread, a bit of green leaf salad, a lot of mayonnaise but less than a teaspoon of crab in the whole sandwich. This must be daylight robbery. It was a nice pot of tea though.

I recently visited this cafe and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite the charming location, the food was extremely simple, basic, and unimaginative. For anyone who can cook beyond just microwaving ready meals, I highly recommend grabbing your own picnic and enjoying it on the beach instead. I won’t be returning and certainly won’t be recommending this place.

Been past this place a few times whilst on holiday in Jersey though this time decided to stop.
Literally on the coast, nice spot with outside seating area looking out into the bay.
Coffee was nice and strong which is good food which came out for others looked rather nice though we hadn't long had breakfast.
Took both cash and card payment.

Been meaning to go to this latest incarnation of Driftwood, and went today. Had lunch for three, Fish and Chips, Lobster Roll and a portion each of Tempura Prawns and Local Squid.
Sat inside but could have enjoyed the sunshine outside but a bit blowy. Interior has been brightened up, and feels fresh. The view is still as good as ever.
Lovely staff at counter, and delivering and clearing food. Food itself really good, fresh and substantial portions, each of us suggesting that individual dishes were close to if not as good as any similar in Jersey, and not at daft prices. No unnecessary penny pinching here.
Really enjoyed food, and will come back.
Breakfast looks good, so may give that a go, but the seafood is excellent so may have to come a few times!
Thank you for rescuing what was one of our favourites a few years ago but had under immediate past operators slipped a lot. Hope it continues to succeed.

For years, I have been an on/off visitor to the Driftwood Cafe, always slightly disheartened by its unfulfilled potential - but that frustration is now a thing of the past! The cafe has undergone a remarkable transformation since its takeover in 2023 and the new owners have infused it with fresh life and charm.
Not only has the food quality elevated drastically but they have also enhanced the overall ambiance. Both indoors and outdoors are being stylishly revamped. Little touches like the outside Christmas tree made out of lobster pots was really lovely to see.
With such significant improvements, I'm slightly worried that securing a table during the bustling summer months will be a challenging feat! It's becoming the go-to spot out east, and rightly so. Bravo!

Nice cafe in a beautiful setting serving excellent meals. However beware possible baked goods sleight of hand. Was attracted by fresh bake well slices in display case on the counter. Ordered one. A few moments later a slice, clearly from a different batch, appeared from a microwave. Left over from yesterday and heated to (unsuccessfully) freshen it. Disappointing!
