Start with the negative. The service was appalling. Firstly, they claimed that they hadn't got our booking, when we clearly had a response confirming. It then took 40 minutes to be asked for our drink order, the starter and the mains came out all together...and when asked what had happened, the staff were very dismissive about the whole thing. The Manager, at least I presume he was, did not seem to care at all and was very abrupt and arrogant. The waiting staff, although polite, just didn't seem to know what was going on at all. The postive; The food here is absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious and the sushi was top quality and well presented. It would be such a great experience if the service had just been up to par. Sadly, it was not a great evening.More

Excellent food and superb service. We were very weary by the time we got to this restaurant. We didn't have a booking but the lovely manager, Jamie accommodated us and got us a drink straight away. The veggie gyoza were delicious and the chicken katsu...was too. The menu was really good value and the restaurant is very central. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Japanese food and great service.More

Booked a table to eat here on the the 26th October. Arrived at the restaurant to be told our booking hadn’t been put in/confirmed and the restaurant was fully booked that evening, despite being near enough empty inside and out. Having booked, I’d had a...reply from the owner asking for the number of people we were booking for, which had all been confirmed. However this didn’t’t seem to be enough for the staff working that evening, who also seemed to indicate it was a common thing with the owner, The man, I presume was the manager proceeded to patronise us about how we should have booked a table and we’d also struggle to eat anywhere else in St Helier that evening without a booking, really the way to rub two people up the wrong way who you’ve just let down. So I’m giving this restaurant a 1* review based on the really crap customer service and management. I won’t be recommending to anyone I know, but I would say, go and eat at one of the restaurants in The Royal Yacht, great food and friendly staffMore

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever had at a restaurant. Felt unwelcome from the moment we entered the restaurant. They could also be at fault for false advertising as the items listed as vegetarian and vegan on the menu contain oyster sauce. This is...also be a serious health concern if someone had a shellfish allergy and didn't question their vg/v tag on the menu. Awful. The 'manager' was incredibly rude and acted like a petulant child; acting like it was our fault for being confused and disappointed by their menu.More

Brilliant Sushi, we had the shared platter at £35 per head. If you have this do not have a starter or a dessert. It has to be said that the service is poor. The staff have the attention span of gnats, which is a shame....This could be the best restaurant in Jersey, but not unless they sort the service.More

Food pretty good, but the katzu chicken was over cooked. Problem here is the service. Not a particularly warm welcome from the owner on arrival, staff are pleasant, but can’t cope with the number of tables. Plates left uncleared and waiting too long for orders....No idea why they are persevering with a takeaway service when they can’t cater for face to face customers.More

Firstly, the food here is fantastic and highly recommended. However waiting an hour between courses somewhat took the edge off the evening. The place was packed, we were told "one chef has been contact-traced and had to leave" but they were short of service staff...too. We saw only the manager/owner and 3 others waiting on the whole restaurant which is enormous with a large outside area as well as the restaurant itself and one person behind the bar. The people at the next table also complained of a long wait. If you want to try it then book to get an inside table because outside was full of families and kids running around and was very noisy.More

Visited this restaurant last year as I love sushi and although the sushi was good the service was the worst I’ve had anywhere in years, I was hoping this was just bad luck and we’d caught them on a bad day so tried again recently...and again had a terrible experience. As someone who eats sushi regularly this is disappointing as there’s not too many options in Jersey but I will never go here again.More

All I can say is the katsu curry I had tonight was awful. In fact, I feel quite nauseus after such a horrible meal. I have dined at Soy quite a few times and typically order a Katsu curry - never again!

Went with my daughter this evening the burgers with the prawns and squid looked really nice,, only once seated to be told tthe burger and many other items where not on the menu due to no deliveries ??? What ?? Seemed strange but ordered the...prawn katsu curry instead and I had the king prawn sizzle plate with rice The meal was like a starter !!! I was given 4 prawns mixed with lots of veg and smallest portion of rice ever slightly larger than a dipping bowl Very peppery not a nice taste could not make out the flavour at all The katsu curry also had 4 Prawns and the chips where burnt the sauce was cold no rice either The staff did not care when I asked about portions( wee are not huge eaters either) she shrugged didn't come back not interested in slightest I also ordered a coke it was watery and got another one to find out it was draught why no bottle or can available 2 of the staff claimed to be new when I asked anything and the 2 sushi chefs where acting like 5 year olds behind our seating area Very disappointing and will not return only if I read these reviews prior I would not have went and will not be returning please do not waste ur time or money on this place they have one thing only in mind and its not the customer its moneyMore

Went for a birthday meal over a week ago with friends. We were sat down on a Saturday evening the waitress comes over and said we are changing our menu next week so we don’t have any steak, prawns, oysters mackerel, moules we Looked at...each other in a bit of shock. Does this mean on the new menu they are not going to have all these items.. Anyway we decided to have the platter as wasn’t much else available. The waitress asked does anyone have any allergies one said squid the other octopus so the platter comes out and looked amazing, as we were eating it my friend who is allergic to squid picked up thinking it was a piece of lobster and the other one does the same only the find out it was octopus. We called one waitress over and said we had mentioned we were not to have these items on the platter so she called the waitress over to our table who denied that we said that. They became quite rude and no apology what so ever. We carry on dessert menu then came out to say they only a couple of items on the menu so decided to leave it and get the bill where we waited over half an hour again no apology no offer of anything off the bill. The staff couldn’t care unless and none of us will be returning. So many other better Sushi places in Jersey than this placeMore

Restaurant location looks fantastic from the west centre but unfortunately doesn’t live up to it. Staff were unable to explain menu and give advice on any parts of it. Many of the items in the menu were unavailable and the teriyaki steak I chose as...a main was tough to eat. Music too loud, staff uninformed won’t go backMore
