I dined here a year ago with my boyfriend and this is still one of the most enjoyable and memorable dining experiences I've had. The food was elegant and imaginative and it's really given me the taste for fine dining. There are many fabulous restaurants in Jersey and I've eaten at most of them. This for me though is the... This is certainly the one restaurant you really must visit while in St Helier. What an absolute delight the food in this Michelin Star restaurant was. There are several menus to choose from, and I've no idea how the chefs cope with orders coming from such a huge variety of menus, but they sure do. You can also have wine... More

We had dinner here recently and the whole experience was fantastic. This is well up the 1 Star listing. We had the Taster Menu, and each course was beautifully prepared and arranged. Staff without exception were polite and extremely well trained. Wine list is extensive, and there are reasonably priced wines to find in amongst some of the eye watering... More

A treat for my mother as our first time at a Michelin star restaurant. What an experience! Staff fantastic, quite explanations of dishes served, each dish a feast for the eyes and a special journey of new tastes and flavours for us both. I can understand why it is classed as in the top restaurants of the UK, Would recommend... More

On our last day in Jersey my wife and I decided to have lunch at Bohemia. We were not disappointed. We had the taster meal, 6 courses, all very different and designed to accommodate our likes and dislikes. Each dish was imaginative, attractively presented and had its own distinctive tastes. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The dress code... More

Value for money lunch at this 1* Michelin Restaurant. A three course lunch that included delicious bread and amuse bouche all for £19.95. Service is always professional and polite. Small but concise wine selection covers all the main grape varietals that can accompany all the dishes on the menu.

Potato potato potato was easily the stand out dish! I'll spare the details, as you really should experience it to appreciate it. Entering the closely sat busy restautrant, you can't miss the stunning ceiling lighting, you then sit to a really nicely balanced Michelin experience, in that it is neither too stiff! Or two informal, but the atmosphere leaves you... More

This was an amazing restaurant for dinner for two. We both had the vegetarian tasting menu. Every course was packed with different flavours and textures, and was visually art on a plate. I had the wine flight to accompany the meal, and these were beautifully matched and introduced. The service was attentive, engaged and knowledgeable when we asked questions. The... More

Steve Smith at Bohemia receives rave review from one of the world’s top food critics July 2013Steve Smith and his team at Bohemia are over the moon as the Michelin-starred restaurant has been scored 16/20 by food critic Andy Hayler on his acclaimed food review website andyhayler com Bohemia is one of only 20 restaurants in the UK in the last year to be awarded such a high score beating several 2 Michelin star restaurants like Joel Rubicon and Michael Wignall at the Latymer.Andy Hayler is one of the world’s most respected food critics and the only man to have eaten in all three Michelin star restaurants across the globe in just one year.Interestingly Hayler is also one of only a handful of critics who never accepts a free meal, always covering the cost of his meal, he ensures that his reports are fully subjective. When at Bohemia Andy Hayler opted for Steve Smith’s pescatarian tasting menu, though he swapped one course in order to try some meat as well. His review describes each dish in detail commenting, “Lobster with pea purée was served with pistachios and smoked butter foam. This was a very good dish, the local lobster tender and the pistachios adding a useful texture contrast.” And; “I had chicken with girolles, pea purée, sugar snap peas, mushroom purée and a Madeira sauce. The chicken, unlike so many served on restaurant tables in Britain, had good flavour, the sauce lifted the dish and the pea purée was also good; seasoning was very accurate, as it was throughout this meal.”He summarises the experience by saying, “This was an excellent meal.”Commenting on the review Bohemia Head Chef Steve Smith said, “I am absolutely thrilled that Bohemia has been rated so highly by such an acclaimed food critic as Andy Hayler. It is pleasing to know that our ethos of looking after our guests, offering quality and value for money; and on a technical level focusing on precision, balance and depth of flavour is recognized as the key to an outstanding dining experience.”In recent years Jersey has struggled to gain the attention and recognition afforded to other destinations by leading food critics. However it seems that the tide has now turned and not only are critics visiting the Island but its superior establishments are making an indelible mark as demonstrated by this latest achievement for Bohemia.Lawrence Huggler owner of Bohemia added, “To see the fantastic feedback Steve Smith and Bohemia has had from both locals and visitors to Jersey has been amazing and to then get a review from not just a world leading food critic but one whose reviews I personally respect so much is particularly special. Steve’s team in the kitchen and Dimitri’s front of house team have really raised the bar in Jersey and it is great to positive recognition of this.”
