Magnificent flavour explosion! Ok Kerb appeal not the best given some of the stunning locations in Jersey. However stop right there if like us you have your doubts on location. The menu is eclectic and for an old gimmer Yorkshire bloke like me lots of stuff I haven’t heard of. Five of us had different starters/mains and were blown away by the mixture of flavours and quality from starters and main course. Everyone ate something out of their normal comfort zone and found it a new very positive flavour experience.
Next the service….. excellent, but more importantly the passion and genuine friendliness of all the team. A magnificent all round evening of food flavour and passionate service.
However if you want bland food, average service, overpriced menus but a nice view, then go to the boat house 50m away…… not saying that’s bad, we fell into the well marked trap the night before! Won’t do it again!

This is a real gem of a place, serving an unusual eclectic menu. The special starter of confit duck with guacamole and teriyaki sauce was amazing! Our mains of jerk chicken and a special harissa sea bream were outstanding. The portions are generous so we had no room for dessert. It's a popular place that was booked up for most of the week we were in Jersey but the friendly and helpful owners squeezed us in and we were so glad they did. Highly recommended.

Situated in st aubins bay this restaurant is sat just at the foot of the hill. From the outside you could easily walk past as it doesn’t have. The harbour views like some others in the bay but it’s definitely worth going. Quirky interior with mementoes from Africa and Sri Lanka you are welcomed by happy and enthusiastic staff. Lots of amazing dishes and specials to choose from. Lovely wine selection too. Some of the best food we had on our trip was truly a brilliant meal.

As regular visitors to Jersey and having read a number of positive reviews for this place we thought we would try it. What a disappointment. 2 mini spring rolls with a pile of grated raw carrot for £10! And a main of cola ribs which were below average. Over priced poor food. We wouldn’t recommend it but it’s up to you if you want to try it.

Another fantastic night at Lazin Lizard! Party of 12. Clean plates all round!! Deserts to die for and the cocktail menu has something to suit everyone. Brilliant atmosphere and great service!! Anyone who visits Jersey should visit this restaurant. In the heart of St Aubin and on a great bus route! Perfect for children too! My favourite is Sizzling steak and prawns but everything on the menu is mouth watering!! The famous Bunny Chow for curry lovers is a must! Great veggie options too.
I guess my review makes this restaurant sound expensive but trust me, it’s not!!
It’s just a lovely restaurant in a lovely location with lovely staff!! What more could you ask for!
It’s a secret gem.

What a find this place is. Run by a couple with great staff the South African and Indian Ocean inspired menu was brilliant. The use of very fresh and varied ingredients produced dishes of superb quality and the place had a fantastic vibe. We have booked to go again this week.

Best meal of the holiday in Jersey by far!
Salt and pepper calamari to start followed by Sri Lankan curry with prawns for me and a special of baked cod wrapped on Parma ham on a bed of croquette potatoes with a shrimp sauce for my partner.
The tastes were incredible and we ate slowly to savour each mouthful.
A great atmosphere and totally excellent meal.

A little gem of a restaurant located just around the corner from other restaurants in St Aubins.
We visited prior to our wedding and it didn't disappoint.
Me and my partner consist of a vegan and non-vegan and it is often difficult to find a quality restaurant that serves quality fish and vegan food that isn't just a solitary vegan burger or slab of cauliflower... Lazin Lizard is luckily one of the places that accommodated for us both well.
I enjoyed the special fish cake starter and then the special spicy Tuna steak and my partner enjoyed her vegan options as well (can't remember what they were!). We bought one of the parents along who also thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well (I believe a teriyaki beef meal) and the service wasn't rushed or feeling like they wanted you in and out as fast as possible.
I would recommend a visit if in Jersey, we enjoyed ourselves and the meal and would visit again!
Pricing is as expected in Jersey and was reasonable for the place, food, quality and the fact it is Jersey!

So this place is tucked away in some unassuming building on the main road out of St Aubin and doesn't have the sea views, but that doesn't mean you should overlook it. Far from it, the food here is amazing, service is fantastic, the welcome warm and the surroundings laid back.
My partner had the bunny chow but chose to have the rice instead of the traditional bread basket and I had the Sri Lankan curry with coconut symbol and we followed these with the sticky malva pudding with apricot custard.
Everything we had was chock full of flavour and this from someone who normally likes his curry very hot.
Be sure to book in advance as it is a small place with a huge reputation.

This place was recommended by Jersey experts and they were right. Terrific place run by South Africans (with a Sri Lankan chef I’m guessing). Great Sri Lankan curry (in a bread roll, called bunny chow), excellent chilli prawns and some good S African beer and blush to wash it down.

We arrived quite late, without a booking, and the restaurant staff were super busy but they still kindly organised a table in speedy time. We were obviously tourists and they were really patient with us. The lady that served us explained some of the dishes, that we hadn't heard of before, in such a passionate way that we all tried something new that night. The food was absolutely excellent, the service was great, the price was great, the atmosphere was just lovely. We couldn't have asked for a nicer evening. I wish we lived closer! Thankyou

Absolutely perfect restaurant for one of us being gluten free but a lover of more adventurous and spicy foods, and the other preferring more traditional. The staff were just lovely, couldn’t be more helpful, and the food is delicious. The chef was kind enough to come out from the kitchen to speak to me directly about my gluten free needs, and how the dish could be adapted, which I was really grateful for. I’m still trying to work out the Sri Lankan curry ingredients so I can try and recreate at home!

We had heard good reviews and had to book well in advance ..but well exceded expectations. The staff were all friendly and helpful..and the food was amazing. I had the seabass which was covered in a sauce which was bursting with flavours but still allowed the full flavour of the fish to come through.
... And the cocktails were equally as impressive!

Came here on recommendations having walked and driven past many times. Shown straight to our table and offered drinks. Had a mix of cocktail and beers. Cocktails were very good and reasonably priced. Some of us had starters which looked lovely especially the ribs, then had Sri Lankan curry which was very good, the jerk chicken which was good and fish, again good. The menu isn’t huge and there are a few curry type dishes but a good variety of choices. Opted not to have desserts as such but did go for a dessert cocktail and one of their Dom Pedro milk shakes which was heaven in a glass. Could have done with a couple more of those! Really nice friendly restaurant, which isn’t large so you definitely need to book. Will be back very soon.

We visited Lazin Lizard last night with friends. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and we had a nice corner window table. The chairs are a little uncomfortable but the wine helps! Service was efficient and friendly. We ordered a range of starters. My wife opted for Chorizo and garlic prawns and enjoyed them. The scallops with avocado on sourdough bread looked tasty and my cola ribs were meaty and the accompanying homemade coleslaw good. A range of mains followed and were well executed. Two of us opted for the Jerk Chicken and it was very generous with just the right amount of spice heat and the accompanying chips were excellent. The Sri Lankan curry was generous even if the curry sauce looked a little thin, whilst if you don't mind an overdose of deep fried fish, the fish bucket looked generous and was declared a hit. Wine by the glass was fine if a little limited in choice but it meant we could all choose the grape variety we preferred. I finished off with a Dom Pedro with Amaretto which was something of an indulgence but was a little different. The menu at Lazin Lizard is a little out of the ordinary which is a good thing, with a South African influence, particularly regarding some of the curries eg. served in a bread basket. All in all, we enjoyed the evening and the food was good, as was the value. If meeting friends in St. Aubin, I would happily return but there are many other equivalent options with Lazin Lizard holding its own in a competitive middle range market. Recommended!
