A group of us took a lovely walk in Glendalough and went to the Wicklow Heather for late lunch afterwards. Staff were lovely, attentive but not invasive. A good selection of dishes on the menu priced between €15- €20 approx per main course. Vegetables and potatoes are generally served WITH your meal, a nice change from some restaurants. The food... Superb and varied menu and good winelist. Great Hostess and very friendly staff. Never disappoints and one of the gems of County Wicklow for casual dining or special occasions. With the warmth, decor, charm and hospitality, once in situ you just dont want to leave.

Very charming restaurant in an excellent location with great decor. The food was excellent as was the service. Perhaps it was our best meal in Ireland during a 2+ week trip.

We had a Sunday lunch here after a beautiful walk around the lake at Glendalough. We had the duck confit spring roll and stuffed mushrooms to start, both delicious. Followed by a roast lamb with mashed and roast potatoes, carrots and turnips and cabbage, anda rib eye steak with chips. Both were beautifully cooked and served by a charming Dutch waitress.... On our month-long trip through Europe, our meal at The Wicklow Heather was one of our favorites! Excellent local food in a fantastic atmosphere - great value. One of the most diverse menus we saw in Ireland. The service was wonderful as well. If you are staying at the Trooperstown Wood Lodge, there's a free shuttle to and from The... More

We almost always default to this place, for it never disappoints us. The standards are great, bangers and mash, stews, whiskey samplers too. Very consistent. Love it.
