As the title reads, I didn't think a whole lot of this restaurant, the decor is nice and cosy but the food isn't really up to that much, eaten in far nicer and cheaper places

Another super meal at the Hungry Monk. It's hard to not select the kidneys beautifully cooked with dijon mustard as they are delicious (I know this does not appeal to everybody but they are super flavour), however this time I selected crabmeat and smoked salmon which was very good. Their brown bread is very tasty. They had a 'special' of... More

We were going to Wicklow & I was searching Trip Advisor looking for somewhere to go for dinner when I came across the Hungry Monk. Reading reviews 3 things came through - food is great, staff are lovely & make sure to book. Having now been all 3 are true when you go. Food really was excellent, fresh, tasty and... More

the décor is fantastic. my favourite so far and I've been in plenty restaurants. food was average. had chicken wings which were quite ordinary. the crispy duck was decent but not very crispy. the crème brulee was worth waiting for. really delicious. weird thing about this place is that they insist on a service charge for just 2 of us.... The hungry monk is a must visit if your in the area! we got lucky with a cancellation booking on saturday night. The had a fillet steak on the nights special which myself and my partner ordered. Awesome food. Loved the Beef stew, rainy night food. Don't like this 100 character requirement on app

We took our children (10, 14) here for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were met with a warm and ebullient welcome, and the menu was absolutely delicious.

I visited "The Hungry Monk" during last month (September 2016). It was very disappointing to say the least. There were 6 of us in total and my niece had booked our table the day previously. When we arrived we were kept waiting in the hallway while they tried to find our booking, to no avail. Eventually, they managed to seat... More

Weekday dinner in restaurant, very good, friendly service and excellent, simple menu in terms of not being overpowered by choice. Food extremely well prepared, care clearly taken in taste, flavours and preparation. Excellent pork and fillet steak (not served together!) Interesting decoration throughout and sports memorabilia in the entrance hall. Enjoyed the Gregorian chants too!
