We came here on a Sunday afternoon in January, after having done the Bray to Greystones cliff walk. Something I suspect that is common enough amongst diners on a Sunday afternoon. The setting is lovely - its like an old monastry and even has hymns playing in the bathroom. We were greeted by a red headed and somewhat over enthusiastic... More

I heard great reviews from friends and decided to experience it first hand. I wasn't overly impressed. We rang in advance and booked a table for 4 but had to wait for a free table. I had the crispy duck, although there was nothing crispy about it, I found it bland to be honest. The steak was ordered Medium and... More

We ended up here after a long day of walking along the cliff. The ambiance pulled us in and the food was perfect. We arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and the restaurant filled up after that, so I would imagine that reservations are a good idea to ensure you get a table most nights. All four meals were absolutely... More

We ate at 1730 on a Tuesday evening so the restaurant was still nice and quite. We started we the Fish smokes €9 and the Calamari €8, both of which were very good. We then both tried the Fillet steak special for €29. Again no complaints and we eagerly finished every bit. We were too full for desert so I... More

We ate at 6pm but no early bird so obviously there is none on Friday nights. Starter of pears, walnuts and cashel blue - sadly there was very little of any of these but loads of mixed leaves. Fish special was baked hake - it was a decent portion but sadly overcooked, as was my friends. Great wine choice and... More

Dined on a Monday night in Greystones and the Hungry Monk delivered and firmly hit the spot. Took my daughter and her friend for dinner - surprisingly quiet but that did not deter from the food - only one starter - excellent kidneys in a mustard sauce - delicious For mains two specials of filet steak and one curry -... Went for an early bird at The Hungry Monk today. The special of peasant was delicious and sticky toffee pudding to die for! It was just before the xmas party rush but the service was great as usual.
