Must be my favourite restaurant in Greystones. The atmosphere, decor and the excellent staff make you feel " at home. " The Kidney starter, Prawns and the steak were all delicious. We just love it. Will definitely be back again and again and..... Big thank you to Nicholas for looking after so well as usual. An absolute pleasure to dine... More

The 6 of us had a lovely evening. The steaks were delicious and of course the scampi was succulent and crispy. Service by Nicholas was friendly and professional. We have had consistently good food at the Monk over the years.

A very nice and hospitable place. The food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly. Tasting craft beers is highly recommended. They have a very good choice of good wines. Will definitely come back again soon. My sincere gratitude for all the staff!

Went here for dinner just before Christmas with some friends. It is literally like walking into a monastery - the decor and music are very apt, the music is like constant chanting but very low. The food was delicious, we all had different starters and main courses and we were all impressed, the wine selection was good too. Its fairly... More

We came here on a Sunday afternoon in January, after having done the Bray to Greystones cliff walk. Something I suspect that is common enough amongst diners on a Sunday afternoon. The setting is lovely - its like an old monastry and even has hymns playing in the bathroom. We were greeted by a red headed and somewhat over enthusiastic... More

Dear AimsS, Many thanks for your recent review of our restaurant and indeed your prior email warning us of your impending TA review, certainly an unusual occurrence as far as we are concerned. It is indeed with great upset that I read your review which I must say is very economical with the truth and indeed scathing in its tone,... More

I heard great reviews from friends and decided to experience it first hand. I wasn't overly impressed. We rang in advance and booked a table for 4 but had to wait for a free table. I had the crispy duck, although there was nothing crispy about it, I found it bland to be honest. The steak was ordered Medium and... More

We ended up here after a long day of walking along the cliff. The ambiance pulled us in and the food was perfect. We arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and the restaurant filled up after that, so I would imagine that reservations are a good idea to ensure you get a table most nights. All four meals were absolutely... More
