Never got the carvary in here but always opt for sandwiches, wraps, soup etc. Always good. Seating can be a problem with buggies but can be squeezed majority of times

Came here in search of breakfast that was cheaper than the hotel. Wasn't disappointed. I had the full Irish and it was delicious. My boyfriend had the scrambled eggs and he really enjoyed them. Very reasonably priced, friendly staff, prompt service. If I'm back in Portlaoise, I'll definitely return.

My wife and I had a day out in Portlaoise over the 2016 Christmas period. After browsing around the shops in the Laois Shopping Centre we stopped off for a snack in Rafters Café in the complex. There was a good crowd in the café, but we had no problems finding a seat or being served. The lemon cheese cake... More

I ordered a chicken, bacon and brie wrap. The chicken was very dry and hard, the bacon didn't look right and tasted funny and the wrap was burnt and very hard around the sides. The chips that came with it were tasteless. I was very disappointed because of all the good reviews on here and when I last ate here... More

Was there today 13_12_16 I never thought I'd get a breakfast as bad. Small portion food was cold. Appart from the egg, asked for tea and was shown to the counter bad attitude by a male staff member I wouldn't be running back anytime soon

Nice place to eat very central in the shopping centre. Quite busy spot and a bit pricey but the food was very nice. Worth a visit

Hi thank you for you kind review. I presume you are referring to everything except the lunch menu is it's changed every day. We are always nervous about changing menu items as something that may be a slow seller may still be someones favorite. Notwithstanding this we plan to change some of our menus in the new year and should... More

The food is okay but unless you order off the menu then you will be disappointed because the portions are very small! I ordered a coffee and it was stale! It depends on the day I think but still disappointing

Hi Michelle thanks for your review. If you don't mind I will deal with your comment about the coffee first. We were baffled by the suggestion that your coffee was stale as the coffee is ground fresh through out the day for both our espresso machine and our filter machine. When we looked closer at it we discovered that over... More

Rafters is fine for a quick lunch but it is not going to set the dining world on fire. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Watch the cutlery, it is often not well cleaned?

Hi Dain96, Thank you for your review and for your compliiments in relation to both our customer service and food. We will most certainly keep an eye on the cutlery, I do apologise if a piece of cutlery during your visit was not 100% clean, that is not acceptable. We will ensure this does not happen again. But thank you... More
