Up north, there are sub, pizza, and wing shops every 4 blocks, and I miss them. Lenny's is a chain sub shop, but is the only place I've found in the south that has a sub that's not just okay, but it's excellent in it's...own right. I get the Philly Cheesesteak sub (it's not really a Philly cheesesteak at all...). I get it with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and Lenny's pepper relish on a white bread sub roll. Up north, they just call pepper relish, "hots." I catch myself asking for hots and they just look at me and I have to look for their pepper relish jar to remember what they call it.More
Looking for a light meal on a hot day and swooped in here to try it out. It was clean, the employees polite, and the ingredients fresh. Enjoyed our sandwiches and really like their brand of chips. Very reasonably priced and I liked that they...had different sizes of sandwiches.More
I have been going to Lenny's for over 10 years. For years, I used to go once a week. Not as much lately. Haven't been in a couple of months, so stopped in today to get a sub. When I walked in, it looked so...different. The display case of meats--gone. Tacky table set up in its place. Bread rack full of fresh bread--gone. In its place, a large Cambro with about 3 loaves of bread in different sizes. Ordered my sandwich. They cut it and put it on a piece of deli paper. The employee the took the lump of cheese and meat and began to distribute across the bread. I had the club which includes turkey, roast beef and cheese. When she put it on the sandwich all the turkey and cheese wound up on one half and the roast beef and no cheese on the other half. WHAT? What happened to slicing the cheese on to the bread, then slicing the meat directly on to the sandwich?? So disappointing. I'm very sad to say I have eaten my last Lenny's sub.More
The food is aways fresh, and it reminds me a lot of the Greek sub shops in New England, The Steak an Cheese is almost exactly like what i fell in love with up the New England area, it is not the yellow cheese from...Philly which i personally dont care for, but its what you get used too i guess. the Number 2 Italian has plenty of meat and my familys 2nd choice everytime we go there. no pepper relish on mine pleaseMore
