I'm guessing that years ago Pete's was one of the best places to eat breakfast. But that ship has long since sailed. To say that they use cheap ingredients and make greasy food would be an understatement. I can't imagine a place using cheaper and...worst tasting coffee. The eggs were rubbery and my hash browns were some of the worst I've ever had. If it wasn't for the fact that we only had to wait half an hour I would have been more frustrated. There's always a wait out the door at this place and I have never understood why. I guess I decided to give it one last try and was yet again horribly disappointed. At some point I just have to come to terms with the fact that Pete's is no longer the same quality restaurant that it used to be. And it's hard to imagine spending money at this place when there are so many other good breakfast options in the area. This place is just living on fumes and old reputations. It's been a long time since I've had a pleasant face greet me there and most of the time the people seem frustrated and tired of doing their jobs. It's almost as if I'm eating cafeteria quality food when I go there. It's just not worth the money and the wait to get into the door. You be better off to go to waffle House. All good things come to an end. One thing that's ending is my patronage at Pete's. I can't bring myself to waste any more money or time on this place. Neither should you.More
Stopped in for a late breakfast. Staff was outstanding / friendly / helpful / pleasant. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I got a breakfast wrap with eggs, bacon, and sausage with a side of hash browns and is was delicious and quickly delivered....My wife got an omelette with coffee and it was superb as well.
Great place to eat. We will 100% come back here next time we are in town. Well done!More
Love eating at Pete's. Often a line out of the door, especially during game weekends. Have only eaten there for breakfast. Personally love either Pete's sampler or country breakfast. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault.
Food was awesome and really fast. The price was reasonable. We were waiting to be seated at an IHop and I searched breakfast near me. Petes popped up and the rest is history. Way better than a chain restaurant. If I lived in Knoxville I...wld become a regular.More
I’ve lived here my whole life, worked downtown some and have heard of this place, but had never dined here till today! What an amazing place right here, Downtown! Quaint and modern and just a wonderful experience opened since 1986!
We had breakfast; I had...the Southern Breakfast (Open Faced Biscuit, Fried Eggs, Crispy Chicken and Gravy and Home Fries. My wife had the Cinnamon French Toast with Powdered Sugar and Bacon. both our meals were amazing and fulfilling!
A excellent place with superb staff and cleanliness, many awards and celebrities have dined here. I highly recommend and must say it was a great first time meal, and it won’t be our last…..More
This place is definitely worth a stop! Food network rated it #1 diner in the state of Tennessee, and for good reason. They have (I think) all day breakfast, and I got their lemon pepper chicken. The consistency was amazing and the flavor was good...as well.More
We are from out of town and wanted a breakfast that was not your usual chain. We sat in the courtyard on a beautiful morning, our waitress was so sweet, and polite. We got our food quickly. I ordered the BLT which was great and...my husband ordered the special with the pancakes and he said they were great. I would come back again.More
My family stayed in Knoxville for several days last week. We ate breakfast here the first morning and decided to try it again the 2nd morning. We were going to another breakfast restaurant in Market Square, but everyone enjoyed their food so much and the...service was so good we decided to come back for a 3rd time. Each time the food and service were great. It's easy to see why this is a local favorite and the prices are reasonable. If you are staying in downtown Knoxville, you'll definitely want to stop by and see Pete and have an amazing breakfast.More
I can see why Pete’s is a local favorite. This place has great food and excellent service. The waitress that had us was on her first day and she did a great job. Food was brought out very quickly. Good portions and prices too. All...the staff was so incredibly nice. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone who wants a great breakfast. The waffles are great!More
Pete's was a short walk from the Oliver where we were staying. It seemed to be the best option that we could find within walking distance. First of all it is old and rundown. The vinyl table clothes are atrocious.
We overlooked that and ordered...an omelet for my husband and pancakes for me. Both were good. I hate the little plastic butter containers that you have to pull the top off of, same thing for the half and half. Coffee was weak and not good considering this is a coffee shop. Service was decent.
We went back the day we were leaving because it was convenient. We sat in the back room, or should I say storage room. What a messy place. All kinds of stuff all over. Our food was OK. this time there were little gnats all over the table. We killed them and ate our food. Not sure we would return, too many negatives.More
