Some friends of ours had bragged on Gus's for years. We finally got to stop and try it. I had a Hamburger my wife had a steamed Ham and Cheese. Both were great. Very large portions and great prices. We both ate for $15. We will definitely be coming back during football season.

Classic steamed sandwiches. Our family demands regular visits when in town. A hotpot on football Saturdays.

Gus's was next door to our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, but with no signage we didn't even know it! Food was good, but not great. Good french fries. Seems to be very popular due to its long-standing history at UT and the patronage by Vol sports stars. Enjoyed browsing all the signed sports posters that line its walls.

My wife was craving a 'real' Reuben sandwich and we saw Gus's Good Time Deli and figured it was worth a try. It is located on a side street in the heart of the University of Tennessee. Parking is scarce - only a few curbside slots on the street. After driving around the block trying to find a parking lot... More

If you have a craving for a Reuben sandwich, then this is the place to go! This steamed deli sandwich is prepared with fresh corned beef piled high, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut & swiss cheese on a rye bun and it was the best I have ever eaten! The bun is steamed along with the meat and it was mouth... More

This was very near my hotel and was looking for a late breakfast. They do not a breakfast menu per se, but the grilled ham and cheese worked out fine. It was very good, but did not stand out as something different. What will draw you there is the plethora of memorabilia on the walls which was intriguing. Pricing is... More

Great Knoxville-style steamed deli sandwiches. The place is ultra-crowded after Tennessee football games so there will be a long wait on those occasions. Also, it can be a little less than sparkling-clean. Finally, all sandwich orders come with fries whether you want them or not. You don't have to take them but you do have to pay for them. This... Gus's Good Times Deli is a University of Tennessee tradition. Conveniently located adjacent to the UTK campus (just off the Cumberland Avenue Strip) Gus's serves the some of the best deli sandwiches in Knoxville. Catering to current students, alumni and discerning locals alike, Gus's is well worth a trip for lunch, dinner or "fourth meal." Open late, Gus's is THE... More
