Archers BBQ Smoke house has the best made to order barbeque chicken & pork. My two son's and I really enjoy their signature barbecue sauce with our pulled chicken and pork sandwiches. They also have really good slow cooked baked beans and homemade potato salad...from scratch.More

We visited the Archer’s in Powell and the lady working there was so very rude. The food is great, but I’ve never seen someone treat the customers so poorly. I sent in a concern on the website and actually got a rude reply back! Archer’s...restaurant is very rude to the local people.More

The ribs were awesome, perfectly dry rubbed and a bit spicey. All of their sauces are GF. But, you need to tell them that you have the allergy as you order, so they can use new gloves and pull your meat from a non-contaminated pork...butt or chicken. We got loaded potato salad, collard greens, and baked beans. We were very pleased.More

Stopped in for lunch on way back to Nashville for flight home to KC. Ribs — eyes roll back in your head, feet twitch, you silently scream hallelujah as the meat and spices melt in your mouth. A true religious moment. Brisket — exceptional bark...and smoke ring. Great flavor and texture. Magnificent. Pulled Pork — very good. Paired well with all sauces. Pulled chicken — kept its moisture and had hints of smokiness. Cole slaw and beans were good. The potato salad is damn good. Love the seasoning and chunky potatoes. We left full. Price to quality and value is very good.More

My family and I stopped by for supper. It was 6pm on a Friday night. We enter the restaurant and are the only customers there. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Food was ordered and prepared quickly. Food portions were good for...the price. So far so good. Now the down sides. No ice in the drink machine (apparently it was broken, but if that was the case I think I would have brought in bags of ice to fill it especially on a Friday night). There was no clean forks out to use, the staff had to go wash some, the same staff that was standing around playing on phones and talking to each other when we entered. My son got the kids meal with a bag of chips, chips were stale. I got the pork meal with sweet potato chips and beans. The pork was average, nothing to write home about. The beans appeared to be straight from a can and wasn’t the type of beans I expect from a bbq restaurant. The sweet potato chips appeared to be homemade and had a great taste but it was like I got the “bottom of the barrel” it was more crumbs than full chips. My wife got the chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese. She enjoyed it and had no complaints. I had high hopes for this visit and it may have just been a bad night in terms of the service. We did tell them about the chips being stale and the staff gladly replaced them. We will give them another chance in the future, probably at one of the other locations simply due to where we live but this visit was nothing special and based on this visit not going to be highly recommended.More

For starters, this is really homemade food, not a chain, and not a factory setting. Archer and his team make homemade food, and you can tell. Though he has several locations, all his food is prepared in his main commissary, where all sides are prepped...and all the heavy equipment resides. This is a brilliant way to maintain consistency and oversight and not have multiple locations requiring more and more of his time and inefficiency. The brisket is out of this world, probably some of the best my husband and I have ever tasted, and we are Kansas City barbecue judges. The pork and chicken are also delicious though they can’t rival the brisket, nothing really can rival a brisket. He also pays attention to his sides, which are sometimes an afterthought at many restaurants. The collards are stripped from the stems and cooked in stock. They are tender and flavorful and not chopped into mush. The stewed green beans were delicious and a first for us, we have never had a dish like that. He makes his own sweet potato chips, and we enjoyed those too. We highly recommend Archers to any barbecue fanatics like us.More

Stopped in Knoxville on the way to the Smokies. Noticed Archers bbq off exit 110. Smoked brisket was 4.5/5 pretty lean and very tasty. Pulled chicken was 3.5/5 not as tasty as the brisket - less smoky flavor. Recommend the baked beans and collards. The...potato salad had too much mayo. The cole slaw was good but sauce was runny. Liked the original bbq sauce the best. I usually like the Carolina bbq sauce but it was too spicy. KC sauce was also more spicy than the bbq sauce that is actually served in KC. Overall rate it 4 out of 5.More

We popped off Interstate 75 to grab some Chic Fil-A and saw Archer's first. Am I glad we did!!! I had a quarter slab of ribs with coleslaw and pimento cheese. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich to take back to Ohip with me. Oh...my gosh...the ribs and pulled pork were delicious. Tender and flavor filled. Exquisite. If you get a chance stop in!More

We stopped at Archers for lunch and had the best BBQ ever. The chicken was amazingly tender and the banana pudding was top notch. The restaurant was also spotless including the bathrooms and the manager Phil was fantastic. We have traveled all over the world...and this was hands down the best chicken sandwich we have ever had.More
