Went Sunday with boyfriend. I've always enjoyed Kabuki but not this time. $7.99 calamari looked and tasted like fish sticks. no hint of calamari. When I told waitress she said - well, now you know what not to order next time. That isn't appreciated or...handled well. Philadelphia roll was ok with good sized salmon. Other rolls were not. And not with enough seafood, small rolls that fell apart. Used to be my favorite place but won't be back - too many other places to pick from with good calamari and better service.More
Not sure how this restaurant got a #2 rating for Japanese in Knoxville. We went for the first time today. We arrived right at 3:00 so I asked the "hostess" if we could still get the lunch and she said "no". She did not have...a pleasant attitude when seating us and taking our drink order. The server greeted us with a smile and was much more pleasant. I ordered the HIbachi Shrimp with Broccoli, The shrimp were overcooked which made them a little tough. The broccoli and other vegetables were good. My husband had the Chicken Hibachi and he could not eat it. I tasted the chicken and it was so dry that I had to drink some water to swallow it. It was overcooked too. the miso soup, salad, and fried rice were just mediocre. After serving our food, the server did not come back to check on us or see how we liked it until we were finished. My husband had obviously not eaten much and told her it was too dry. She did reduce the price to about half. All in all, a bad experience and we won't be back.More
My family enjoys all kinds of Asian foods. We especially love sushi. Kabuki has become a favorite for dine-in amp take-out! He sushi is excellent as listed on the menu but sometimes we make special order sushi and they are very gracious about preparing to...request. If is a family friendly atmosphere with a courteous staff. Food and beverages are excellent and reasonably priced. M family highly recommended you try it for your self. You won’t be disappointed!More
I had wonderful sashimi, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and eel nigiri. Less expensive than other local sushi restaurants nearby. Nice portions, noticeably fresher than sushi elsewhere nearby. Friendly service, and a nice large dining room and sushi bar for eat-in.
I’ve been going to kabuki for years and have never had a bad experience, until now. I ordered take-out and the hostess was incredibly rude. She barely acknowledged my presence and threw my food on the counter. The sushi was good as always, but i...was expecting better service.More
The jalapeño appetizers are delicious. What really was surprising is that the portions were right sized. Usually you get way too much . The portions were good for a filling meal, with an associates price
My husband and I would attend their Monday night sushi night a few years back but the quality went down hill for a while. The waitresses couldn't communicate with the customers due to a language barrier but they've hired servers to eliminate that issue. The...sushi no longer comes out at unsafe temperatures and their hibachi entrees are delicious! We're glad we gave them another try! You should too!More
Have I had better sushi? Yes. What keeps me interested and continuously going to Kabuki is their lunch menu and pricing. I am able to get a squid salad, soup and larger roll for under 14.00 dollars which is pretty darn reasonable. Don't expect the...same pricing on the dinner menu. I've only had sushi but I've heard their entree items are well prepared as well. I have eaten lunch here many times and only once did I feel my roll was not up too par (seemed the tempora shrimp inside my Kabuki roll was dry and sat too long). I only go for lunch because of their specials and I'll be back next week no doubt.More

I've had to eat gluten free for 5 years now, and this place does have gluten free items; however, I don't think there was a specialized menu. But if you've been GF for a while you'll be able to know what rolls have breading/ etc. If it's an allergy, I would stay away to prevent cross-contamination because it is all cooked in the same kitchen.
