We got a carry out order and this
time, we tried the vegetable chow
mein it was very good and we got
our favorite veggie egg foo young.
Plus egg drop soup and egg rolls.
Everything was delicious and the
prices are very affordable.

Yeah, surf around a bit here and elsewhere and you will see nice pix of the old buffet, which I visited many times. Clean porcelain bowls and plates and a nice selection of food. Guess what??? All gone. We came in at noon on Monday to an overwhelming smell of paint and lots of construction still apparently going on. Should've left instantly. "Where's the buffet?" "No buffet," the lady answered, and I believe that and "you're welcome" were the only words of English she knew. She had a translator app and with the help of that, we managed to place our order, Egg Foo Young and Shrimp with Vegetables, with two egg rolls and fried rice. After a considerable wait, she brought out a tray with two of the flimsiest paper plates I've ever seen, sauce dripping off the edges and onto the table, one plastic fork each (that I swear would not cut butter). I made a cutting food-knife motion. Bendy plastic knives appear, which were far less durable than the egg rolls or anything else that purported to be food. I found the meal to be almost completely inedible; that is, if we had even had any decent utensils to eat it with. Stay far, far away!

This is a great place! I always have a few test dishes for a new Chinese place and China House did not disappoint. Wanton soup was great, broth was flavorful and it was packed with wantons. The sweet and sour chicken was a pleasant surprise. It was slightly crispier than what you usually see, a little less breading, the result was delicious! House special Lo mein was awesome, it comes with a shrimp sauce which is REALLY good on the noodles. The bone-in spare ribs were some of the most generous I have had from a Chinese Restaurant, very meaty. Beef and brocolli will not disappoint either, very tender! We will be returning here for another round.

We ordered two meals at the restaurant for takeout.
Both meals were pretty bad. I told my wife we should go back to have them remake the meals or get a refund. But my wife did not want to and said she will never go back there.
I would have at least given them a chance to correct the bad meals, but the wife is the boss when it comes to going to restaurants.

We got a hankering for some Chinese on Saturday night and after some research found that this place delivers!
We ordered combos for the hot and spicy chicken, hunan beef and broccoli with garlic sauce.
I love they can make it mild, medium or extra spicy!
Their egg rolls are stellar! There was sooo much food and it was delicious!
We can’t wait to order more and try other menu items!

The good....... LARGE servings and cheap.
The BAD........ HORRIBLE food, the beef was totally limp and slimy, veggie part OK. Rice was DRY.
ZERO English spoken, I wanted beef, he brought chicken. He had a translator tablet and he got the message. The soy sauce bottles looked like they were stored in the bathroom.
I ate half of mine, wound up taking wife to Olive Garden. She had 1 bite, VERY disappointed.
I felt sorry for the guy, he tried I think. He needs to find another vocation.

My husband and I went to the China House restaurant in Kingsport TN for lunch. It was our first time there. The atmosphere is lacking. Chipped formica table tops and tape patched, vinyl bench seats, stained drop ceiling. We were the only ones in there and it was 12:30. It should’ve been busy at that time with a lunch crowd. Only one person came in to you place an order for takeout.
Our food was served on Styrofoam plates. Not exactly what we were expecting for hot food.
I ordered cashew chicken and my husband ordered orange chicken. The rice was supposed to be stir fried pork rice. It actually was yellow rice with pork pieces. It tasted like yellow rice and it did NOT taste fresh. The (vegetable) oil tasted old, rank. Neither one of us could eat it. I asked for some white rice. It was fine.
My chicken cashew was extremely disappointing. It was deep-fried and I could hardly find any chicken in it. Just fried breading. I even broke several pieces open and all I could really see was breading. I couldn’t taste the chicken nor detect the texture of chicken. My husband liked his chicken well enough with the orange glaze. At least it had some flavor. And he did seem to think there was some chicken underneath all the breading.
He had used the men’s restroom when we first got there. It was dirty. He advised that I may want to skip the ladies room.
We won’t go back. They need to improve in too many ways. It was a waste of $20+. The 4th photo shows what I didn’t eat and the pork fried rice was uneaten by both of us and scraped off to a different plate. It’s a no-go for us. Rarely do I not eat my meal or at least take leftovers home. Not today. Didn’t want it.

Prices are good and portions are large, but the food is not good. Fried rice was awful. Definitely do not eat in.

China House in Kingsport Tennessee is not only reasonably priced but has the best Chinese food in the Tri-Cities! Each meal is custom prepared to order. Carry out, delivery or dine-in in food comes in very generous servings, piping hot and bursting with flavor! We come to China House at least two times a week. We have had almost every item from the menu and have never been disappointed. It is always fantastic! The staff is happy, friendly, and always greets you with a smile.

Great food and great price! Our family LOVES food here! JULY 17, 2019 We got many different food dishes and all was hot and fresh! WE USED DOORDASH AND THEY WORK WITH THIS PLACE GREAT! Got the food to us super fast without any problem!
