Charming place to eat! Love this restaurant. We've been several times and each time was wonderful. Some unusual combinations of spices or prep methods, but this is why it is different from the run-of-the-mill restaurant. I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I will be back!

Sorry to inform you "Jacksonians" but THE CHANDELIER CAFE is far from fine dining. After moving to Jackson we couldn't wait to explore the culinary scene of Jackson. The restaurant is located in a shoddy, worn down home converted into a commercial space. There is...nothing inviting about its exterior and when you enter you quickly discover that there are other businesses that occupy the same residence. The decor is lacking in decor. There is nothing inviting about miss matched cheap junk. Tacky Chic does not scream fine dining. Our service was nothing special, our server was dressed in a unpressed plaid shirt which doesn't tell me that I am in a fine dining restaurant. She did her job and nothing more. The food was mediocre at best. My dining companion and I ordered the Cinnamon-Apple Waffle & Smoked Fried Chicken $15. Seemed like a fair price, right? Not if the waffle does not hold up to the syrup and becomes a soggy, mushy mess and the smoked fried chicken (which sounds delicious) had an overwhelmed jumbled fried smokiness. I suspect that they used liquid smoke to achieve the flavor. This was not a good match. My spouse and our other friend ordered the Grilled American Cut Pork Chop with Red potato pepper hash. They stated that is was "OK", not good just "OK". Too many peppers which tasted more like fried potatoes with peppers and not hash. I genuinely am uncertain as to whether I will return. This is not my standard of "fine dining" and am disappointed if this is the best that Jackson has to offer. Fine dining is not determined by price. I expect more.More

Seems like whoever was in charge of decorating threw some cheap junk on the walls and called it a day. Plastic this and that with no real style. Mis-matched furniture with no humor. It may be someone's idea of shabby chic, but it has not...one ounce of charm. I will say the use of radiators as table bases showed imagination, but there is no artistry in a place that is supposed to be special. The food echoes the lack of follow through. The Teres Major they are so proud of is just a chewy, flavorless piece of meat. They pile a salty blob of blue cheese on top to disguise an inferior product. It was served on decent mashed potatoes with unseasoned cold red cabbage on the plate. The chicken with chipotle sauce was scant but passable, with the sweet potato salad being the only really tasty part of the meal. The deviled eggs were crying for some sort of cracker or flat bread. Three halves for $9.00. Not very special. In addition to the cold atmosphere, tepid food, and institutional presentation, one has the feeling that this tired food shows a lack of caring. Some really good bread or dinner rolls would have been greatly appreciated, but there were no special touches to be found. Our server, however, was full of sugar and spice. He was a pleasure to share the evening with. The high point of our visit. He was spot on even though they seemed to be short handed. I have seen the glowing reviews of this place, and seen pictures of interesting plates of food, but they weren't on offer when we ate there.More

My wife knows how to find the diamonds in the rough. Takes a short drive off i40 but well worth it. Cornbread with pork belly is excellent. Arugula salad with fig pecans and pecorino cheese was flavorful. Teres major (beef) very tender and popcorn crusted...catfish was unique. Great dinner. Couldn’t partake of the bourbons cause I’m driving for two more hours but they have all the great small batch favorites. We will be back when coming through Jackson TN T3More

THE best restaurant in the region! Eclectic menu, extensive wine list. We have attended wine dinners and bourbon pairings that were extraordinary. We are looking forward to Word.Wine.Dine when they bring in authors to pair with a four course dinner. I love their outside the...box approach!More

Relaxed, upscale, delicious, friendly. The old house sets the stage for a really nice evening. The food is great and the wine list is well balanced. The service was stellar, they really pay attention to their guests from maitre d to waitress.
